i live in upstate ny, near albany. i am thinking about going picking but im not sure where to look or at what time. i will be careful. ill take pics and let someone who is experinced tell whats good and whats bad. umm ive checked out many websites that say look here or look there, but im not sure where i should look still. does anyone have some advise. please. thanks Joe
I'm a little annoyed, I have commented on SOO many threads about people empting to go out picking. I shall answer you the same way I have answered everyone else. Research what to look for, how to do it, times, clones, poisonous mushrooms, places for about 6 weeks. Get some books on identifying them. Then go out with a picker that knows what he/she is doing and ask if you can tag along to know what you have to look for. THEN maybe then you could successfully pick some of your own. Now and then, even the experienced pickers such as myself can pick a clone and have a nasty stomach. But that's just unlucky really. OR You could ignore this advice, look it up for about a week. Drive to a forest or field (If there is one!) pick some mushrooms that you think are shrooms. Eat them, become really ill and could possible need a liver transplant or die. There are some mushrooms clones that give you a nasty stomach ache or are extremely poisonous. I can’t express enough that you should leave picking to experienced members.
yeah im gunna talk to my friend he goes out every once in a while but he lives in near kingston ny and thats a long ways from my house. but ill get a hold of him some how.
