    Grey Ash Wednesday

    Curved over a potential mountain,
Specks of moon in your eye,
    Virginal lady of the forests,
    Calming systems of the sky,
    and grey ash wednesday tomorrow.

Under the sun and forever dancing,
The pine needles under your foot,
A code in orange woodsheds clean,
Only a black open window of soot,
    and grey ash wednesday tomorrow.

    Trebuches unwinded again,
    The terrible night storms drifting,
I roam on my horse from Camelot,
While the snowconed ice is sifting,
and the grey ash wednesday tomorrow.

In the hard dark island array,
    The neverending happens to pass,
When the rain stopped falling vertical,
So came the death of the grass,
and the grey ash wednesday today.

    Candlestick
    Indignant wind from courtly world,
    the summary of desperate fools,
    beneath the deeper leaves uncurled,
    an infant, rotting.
    Dimlit jewels, are broken, clustered.
Symmetry must have spurned the unity
    of these two branches.
For life between, and death beyond,
    The leaves uncovered, forever anon
    .

    GRAND PICNIC
Pockets of eye fat, and my blocked vision,
Strolling across the lapping waves of this ditch.
My heart quickensm paces, my division!
Every shot, every cry, every shout is anticipated,
Whilst my one eye roves from man to man.
    Increasing pitch of darkened slumber,
    The weapons, the orders-barking.
Rapid foot movement, we're marching, we're running and stumbling,
    Limping and grumbling.
Incognito stench of blood, mud thickened and red.
Corpses of grass, so soft and gentle yellow,
    Plucked, like life,
    Burnt, like life.
    Slaughtered by me.

    Spit-P
You are Jerry, I am Tom,
Your head will not be the body you're on,
and bloated blood, all clotting and sticky,
your flesh is crawling. Sticky, sticky.
    Incinerated, burnt, cut, DEAD.
There's 50 bullets in your head.
Attach, attach, and torch your death,
before you poison us with your canine breath.

Grand Picnic and Spit-P did it for me... though I really really liked Spit-P, good use of rhyme, a hard thing to pull off! Candlestick had a wonderful classical overtone to it, enjoyed it as well.... thanks for sharing these :)

Hey Lozi - long time no ...er...comment?! This was a dark collection from you, with the trademark quirkiness but without the utter surrealism you sometimes manage!! Spit-P brought a smile to my face, Grand Picnic was dark and effective, and I liked the phrase "grey ash wednesday tomorrow/today" a lot.
