What is the connection? Does anyone have some links to articles, documentaries, or books? They don't have to be just about marijuana and schizophrenia, so if they just have a segment or a chapter about it, that's fine.

    no one 'gets it'.

the condition is sometimes passed on from genes. pot doesnt make you all of a sudden get it, if your bloodline has hystory of it or you allready have a mild case, pot will just enhance it. it doesnt cause it, but if you do have it or genetically should develop it < then pot will speed it up.
theres certain factors that increase the chances of 'enhancing' it, like i read of a large % increase if smoked at 14-16 or so. kids are most affected since the brain is still developing.

right.... this could be very well true, but there's still one quite big problem you didnt examine... the fact that someone might have no clue of his schizo genetical predesposition untill it's too late!!

So absolutly normal guy starts smoking, he has some schizo genes that would have not showed up unless he started smoking heavy strains on regular basis...Now when the person starts getting the first symptoms of schizophrenia means it's alreayd too late... I mean since only way to know is finidng out the hard way...

For all you know you could have a predesposition to get some mental disorders from weed, if you smoke for like 3 or 4 years regularly. when you found out about it it'll be too late get what I mean?

In other words WHO GIVES A FUCK if pot "speeds it up" "enhances" it or whatever...

Fact is that a person that would have lead otherwise completly normal life, now becomes a schyzo because of weed... and that's quite scary.

^ nah see, if its meant to happen than it will. the normal person would start getting schizo symptoms at around age 40, getting heavy at 50. thanx to pot, those symptoms MIGHT show at say age 25.

but yes its a scary factor

so, waht oyr saying is if someone has a predisposition to schizophrenia, they will get symptoms in life sometime, with or without smoking marjuana, marijuana just makes it happen earlier than usual.

like if it happened with pot it was bound to happen sometime or another, right?

Im schizophrenic... When it comes to alot of thing... I sometimes believe that some of the voices I hear are real,,,Or I might hear a voice form the Television that goes along with my thoughts.. A agreement or a disagreement...
Might hear a train wistle/horn and think its my train of thought arriving..While its only asynchronicity of the events going on around me Im just more aware of the coincidence's that are playing out in reality...idk...

Hes probable right we all inherited this extra sence. And Dr's are still trying to figure out what it is.. Is it our soul OR SOULS, within us that want to be heard .. And why more than others.. Your Dr.. is using a trust tool... If you smoke weed you may discuss more stuff with him... Later on he may covince you and you may convince yourself you dont need marijuana either..

yes depending on how you grew up, who you were around, you emotional stability, how you brain reacts to weed and how often you smoke.

generally if you are not mentally stable is not a good idea to smoke. also it can mess with some people when they quit. like some people who have been everyday stoners for 10 years and then quit and never smoke again and just start living sober again. like their brains are so used to smoking all the time so now that they are sober all the time now it can mess with how they take in life n stuff and could possibly trigger schizophrenia.

also there are some people who are schizophrenic sober but just a high person when smoking. so they just smoke all the time and stay high.

also there are different degrees to schizophrenia. some people are schizo and they do not even know it because it is a mild form. people who are overly paranoid are shizophenic slightly.

mainly though the #1 cause of schizophrenia aside from child hood abuse and crazy living situations is methamphetamine.
