So last night i was walking around with my new fiance jus trying to kill some time before our movie started therefor we decided to check out the book store :) Like always we split up and i ended up in the small business section where a older gentleman (business dressed) is already browsing around.
We start making some friendly small talk and he ask me about my business.if i go to school etc. and then introduces himself and that he is looking for young enthuastic people like me and he wants to offer me an interview at his marketing firm.

He tells me that he will call me within 2 days and if not i should call him on friday to set up an interview..he never mentioned his company's name and his card also only says his name and no company name lol.
I was pretty excited at the time thinking that i could finally get rid of those entry level jobs around here but then when i called my mom to let her know she kinda killed it for me:
"I would be careful..there is no company name and he could be gay or some kinda freak trying to pick up people" Just to excuse her - She is this older foreign lady that gets confused very easy.

Does this all seem to good to be true =/?

Just be careful your mom could be right, he could just be some perv dressed up in a suit with a business card maker at home.

Aw man, you just brought back memories!
When I was 17 a friend and I were invited to attend a orientation at the hotel outside of the Philadelphia airport. So our ride was to pick us up at 9am, we wake up and start slamming beers and splitting a blunt on the walk over to the meeting spot at 8:30am. So we show up to this orientation amongst over 200 people dressed in suits with our long hair, red eyes, stench of alcohol completley ripped out of our minds. We just laughed through the whole ordeal. Classic!

When I used to work in NY I had to stand in the street all day talking to strangers trying to convince them of becoming a sponsor for a child. I didnt even think I was good at it, because well to be good you had to "sell" a child to the person and that just felt so wrong to me. But all the time I would get job offers from random people, usually marketing companies, to sell insurance, to sell furniture, to become a part of this revolutionary political organization, to become a promoter. All kinds of weird things and I dont remember any of the cards that I ever got to have a company name.
I didnt enquire about the offers, because I was happy doing what I was doing, but what are the chances of all of them not offering a real job?
If you are really interested, you should call and find out more about it.

it could be, my best advice would be wait till he calls and when he does ask him for the company info so you can verify that it exists before you say you will take the job.

I had a similar situation about 2 weeks ago. This guy in one of my classes said his company is looking for employees for data entry and asked if anyone was interested so I gave him my cell number. Turns out a lady from the company called every single number that had the first six digits of my number, which included my mom and my dad, and left a voicemail asking them to come in as well. When I asked about what the job was like she said I would explain medical shit to people, which got me wondering why they wanted a 19 year old CIS student to explain medical conditions to people who actually have these conditions. I skipped the interview we scheduled, and I got a call back from the same lady asking if I could reschedule the interview. I haven't called her back yet.
