    ... if he wins Hawaii it'll be 10 ... and i couldn't be happier!

I get chills listening to this man speak. He has great ideas. The speech he gave tonight (2-19) addressed I think every single issue that is wrong with this country, and how he plans to fix it. See if you can find it on youtube. If all of his plans come to fruition this country will be better than it has ever been.

Watching this race for me has been so entertaining. Obama was the extreme underdog... so much so that Hillary was kind of lax when it came to gathering supporters (especially in caucus states) but Obama is showing what hard work, determination, and organization can do for a person.

I just hope all the small-minded people out there will vote for a black candidate. This would be a HUGE step in the right direction from our country. We could re-establish oursevles as a respectable nation with a respectable leader. Well that's all I have to say for now.

    Obama 08!

I think we're going to start seeing the whole Dem party line up behind Obama now. Edwards will be the big turning point. The party doesn't want to go to the DNC with it undecided, and Obama's clearly got the momentum, so I think people will start to really pressure Hillary to step down.

I'm not dissing Hill - I think she's a wonderful person and she'd make a terrific president. I do end up supporting Obama, because jeez...man can talk.

I do think tonight's a big one though. This marks the beginning of the end, and on March 5 Hillary will step down.

I see what your saying, and I agree. But imagine if she did win the majority of delegates in Ohia, Pennsylvania, and Texas!? This thing could go all the way to the end. I just made a post about super delegates I am going to repost down below.

This is such a great problem to have though... finally we're gonna see a little positive change in this country.

If it comes down to the super delegates and the super delegates alone you will probably see one of two things.

The first would be the candidate with the most delegates would recieve the most superdelegates to put them over the threshold of 2,025 even if it means some delegates changing their vote.

These are promised delegates but about three or four people have switched their votes over to Obama in the last week, they are not bound to stick by any candidate.

The second thing that may happen is that you may see certain officials changing their delegate and giving it to the candidate that won the popular vote or most delegates in their district. If a senator in Vermont had pledged to give his/her vote to Hillary, but Obama wound up winning the most delegates in the state, he/she would most likely change the vote to Obama.

Personally I like both options, because I feel that Obama would come out on top in either scenario, and I am all about an Obama presidency!

Exactly. We have a woman and a black guy running, and they're both amazing. I'm...I'm even optimistic, and it's been a long time since I could feel that way about our country.

I don't think the Democratic party will let it go to the DNC - they want it settled. I think things will shake out and get finished after the March 4 primaries.

My guess is that Hillary is too big to agree to be veep, so if Obama takes it he'll run with Edwards. What do you think? I really like Edwards, personally - I think he's the most old-school Democrat of the three - so I'd be happy with that.

Hehe, I'm impressed with your political knowledge for a 20 year old:) (even though I'm only 2 years older) I definitely agree with you, Hillary won't play second fiddle to anyone. I also am unsure if Obama would ask Edwards, or even if Edwards will accept. I'm not so sure that he wants to be VP. He probably wants an appointment of some sort, something where he can fight for the struggling millworker (did you know his father was a mill worker?lol) Whatever Obama does I'm sure it will be very strategic and the main aim will probably to win over more white voters.

Well I'm off to bed, let's talk more politics tomorrow!:jester:

I am so glad to see so many young people discussing the politics of our country. I once shared your idealism too when John Kennedy ran and even Bobby but I am going to give you my 2 cent worth.

I think Obama will win but I believe he will be manipulated by all the old Democratic blood in the House and Senate. Why do you think the Kennedy's and all the rest of the Older generation Senators and Congressmen are jumping behind his bandwagon? It is because they know he is only a FIRST TERM Senator and can not know how the Government runs. There are just too many rules and regulations he can not be familiar with. What major legislation has he promoted, sponsored and passed? None than I am aware of. He will be manipulated behind the scenes all the way. Sure, they let him say all his idealistic speeches because they know the American people want a change and he is energizing the population but when he takes office, the same old crap pushed by Democrats for generations will prevail.
And just in case you think I am a Republican, I am a registered Independent and I vote for whoever I think is the best no matter what that persons party affiliation happens to be.

Well If I wouldn't Polish and what more Anarchist - I would vote for Paul Ron. Why? Only because he is different (from other story) - do not fit to anything. So the old sharks will not know how to bit him.

Ha...you know what? High school kids are the most active, aware political participants I know. They can't even vote, but they can tell you exactly what Obama's environmental policy is. It's when you get older and you've been let down by the last twenty politicians you voted for that you get cynical about it. (*coughGreg* lol)

I plan to stray aware as long as I possibly can, with my foolish, naive optimism. ;)

(But seriously, try to wrap your head around this for a sec: Bush has been in office since I was 12. All I know is Bush. I bet you just got a little teary, didn't you? It's fucking tragic. I mean, I've heard that sometimes presidents don't suck - it's just that I've never experienced it. Presidents who respect the constitution are one step removed from the tooth fairy for me.)

Decrim - no, Edwards' father worked in a mill? Wow, he's never even mentioned it! lol

Astrolog, Ron Paul is a racist. Sorry to break it to ya.

Amen Molly. And Greg you should do a little research on Obama. You make him sound like he's an idiot with no idea about what the presidency is about. He graduated from Harvard, and came from the ground up. He accepts no money from lobbyists which means he has no promises to keep. I can't wait til he proves you wrong. You sound somewhat bitter! Trust in the obamanator and all you're wildest dreams will come true(lol).

George Bush also went to Harvard. And we can all see how fucking smart he is.

Obama has NO IDEA what the presidency is about, because he has never been a president.
A little bit of common sense goes a long way.

We'll see how great Obama is when his words and rhetoric turns into legislation. I'm not holding my breath.
