my preference, and where i grew up, was half a mile, walking distance in other words, but more or less only just, of a small town of arround a thousand or fewer, but with good public transportation connections to larger towns for when its time to get more specialized stuff then is available locally or just for the enjoyment of going for a ride.

where i live now is one of the last livable or mostly livable, older neighborhoods in a medium small but all too rappidly 'growing' city, that keeps trying to deny that it is one, while simultainiously of course, continuing to promote the insanity of rapid overpopulation.

the house is nice, the landlord is nice, even the neighborhood is mostly nice, but having to live down here in this damd ignorant urban flatland still sucks, when my real home, the one in my heart, and mind and how i grew up, is just a few tens of miles east and north east of here. close enough to ride an affordable transit bus up there every once in a while.

if my mother didn't live down here, and my wife insist upon it, well if i know any way how to live up there, that's the problem actually, i'd be at least IN, one of the smaller towns up there. not neccessarily the same one i grew up in, but one of the many at the same elevation and within that under a few thousand population range.

oh i know in a general way, its just the obsticals that currently exist to my doing so.

i guess i'm whining and this is the one thing i do whine about, i mean the conventionalities of urban culture ARE tyranny and the economic coersion that funnels people into having to live in them.

really a good internet connection from some little place way out in the boonies where i don't have to listen to some neighbor's crap, is my idea of nervana.

rural, but not much. I am only about 5-6 miles from downtown, which is cool.
