So, I've been more and more noticing the sort of priorities people around me have and it's been messing with my head. That's why I ended up here. Anyway, on to who/why I am: My mom marched on D.C. to end the vietnam war, my dad was at woodstock and enlisted rather than be drafted. Luckily, he got out on a medical as opposed to getting out in a box. Neither were "college hippies". I was born while they were traveling cross-country on horseback. I've been homeless, always been (and still am poor, and had a relatively decent life so far. I'm currently working on my doctorate so that I can eventually get a place in the country and be pretty much self sustaining - in other words, my goal is to have a place to just be. I'm hoping to connect with some other people who grew up in a hippy sort of family or something like that - would be nice to know some other hippies who aren't 60 or so (no offense meant, the ones I know are cool shits, but...) and everyone I've been meeting recently seems obsessed with money and clothes and jobs and security and weird stuff like that.
