You're about 30 miles south of where I live. I'm in the Silver Spring area. I know of Waldorf but I don't know much about it. Aside from that, welcome to Maryland! I fyou don't mind my asking, what brings you here?

Hey there. Thanks for the welcome :)
Well I actually was living in FL for school. After I graduated I moved to PA to live with my big sister, but there was no work up there. So I ended up moving in with my folks who moved to MD a couple years ago. I don't really know the area or many people around here, but at least I've got a job now, lol.

Waldorf kinda depresses me, I'm just not a huge fan of the consumer culture there. You should come over to play in Accokeek just down the road where we got an amphitheater in the woods with plays and folk music concerts. Also there is Piscataway National Park with its nature trails, colonial farm re-enactment, wetlands boardwalk, and the Piscataway Indians ancient ceremonial grounds. The local environmental education farm also hosts a Spring Farm Fest in May and Octoberfest in the fall.

^ That sounds awesome! I will look into it, thank you.
Yeah Waldorf isn't the best but I really didn't have a choice in moving here. I like the neighborhood I live in but the town is too new/built up, that's for sure.

no problemo there, cat. I hope to see you around my town someday. you're definitely welcome at my bonfire/potluck/30th birthday party on April 12th. I agree that waldorf is too new; thats always bothered me. I actually just got back from a roadtrip to St. Augustine, FL which is the oldest city in North America and its just so beautiful in an ancient old world sort of way. peace

whoa...I was just looking through the Florida threads and I think I saw a post from you in there somewhere....hard to miss the big photo..lol.

I'm in Rison near Smallwood State Park....about twenty min. from Waldorf. I've been thinking real hard about Fla....what can you tell me about it? Where abouts have you been hanging around in Waldorf?

Scot - I didn't like FL too much..but what would you like to know?
And as for Waldorf, I'm usually at my friend's house. Or sometimes I go to Hard Times Cafe to play darts and have some drinks. There's the movie theater and the mall (which is kind of shitty). Honestly, when I party/drink it's usually at a friend's house or at a bar down in St Mary's.
