I'd like to get into yoga, but there isn't a lot of classes available where I'm from, and until I know what I'm doing, I don't want to just attempt to copy poses from a book. Does anyone know of any good videos to kind of get me going on the right track? Any suggestions are very much appreciated. Much love.
ive just started poking at a few (*cough*downloadingviautorrent*cough*) but thus far Rodney Yee seems to be my fav instructor on em. i have an old vhs of yoga for strength that he conducted and i like his style a lot, very soothing voice, remembers to give a lot of guidance since you cant exactly watch teh screen while doing the yoga, and few if any props involved (i hate when they use props n stuff, just trying to suck more money out of you)
I like Rodney Yee as well. He does advocate use of props at times. They are useful, especially straps and blocks, if you're flexibility is too limited to get into a pose otherwise. Check out yogatoday.com. They have daily one hour classes that are webcast for free. Every week there is generally at least one beginner level class. They're really nice and the settings a beautiful.
Just remember seashell, nothing replaces a real live teacher. Try to find one. Ask the universe for one.
