I have been taking drugs in proportion for 18 years now and i feel that drugs are compltely harmless and shuld be legalised.
If the government legalised drugs then they could comtrol the ammount sold to the public. it would also eliminate drug dealers and therefor a lot of crime in the country. The government could make A SHIT LOAD of money off drug retail and it would be fine.
I have taken mushrooms three times in my lifetime and every time i have done it i have had a better understanding of life. once you take them you learn what living is realy about and that it is just a load of bullshit and propaganda put out by the government to make everyone live and think exactly how they want them to.
There are lots of different uses for drug aswell if they were legal...

Cannabis= would calm you down for an important interview if taken in the right quantaty. Snookers players have been reported to smoke cannabis before a game to calm them down and give them a steady hand and so on

Cocaine= some jobs require the employee to stay up all night and work stupidly hard hours and cocaine could give you that little boost that you require to work at your best and act alive and full of energy

Magic mushrooms= they stimulate the mind and fill it full of creativity. if a small amount is taken, then the creativity they would give you could help an artist or musitian for example.

Drugs are NOT bad, however, drug abuse IS bad. but abuse of anything is bad isnt it??

IF YOU TAKE DRUGS SENSIBLY THEN EVERYONE COULD BENEFIT IN WAYS YOU CAN ONLY IMAGINE.

Honestly if everyone in the world took mushrooms just once in their lifetime, the world would be a much better place.

Please tell me your opinions cheers
    peace

I agree with a some of what you said. Things do have to change when it comes to drug laws.Weed should be legal but thats about all. legalizing Cocaine and other hard drugs like Herion and Meth is just crazy ! I don't think I would want people who work all night on dangerous jobs handaling big eqipment and driving trucks all fucked up on Coke. Coke should never be legal. Just go into any inner city neighborhood and look at what Crack Cocaine has done to that community. The goveremnt could never control the demand that people would have for Crack and coke. The places that sold it or gave it to Addcits would be robbed at gun point the first day they opened. Also drug dealers would just sell there supply for cheaper then what the goverment is selling thers for. Bottom line is you could never control the flow of hard drugs like Coke,Herion and Meth, it would be next to impossible !!!! Also mushrooms and LSD are fine when taken in moderation but you can't trsut people would take them like that. I have seen so many people who get addicted to tripping balls and become all but a robot they are fried and a shell of what they use to be.And I don't think it would be good thing for a Mentally ill person to be able to walk into a store and buy Shrooms and hits. Also when it comes to kids I could see it now 12 and 13 year old kids waiting outside of corner stores like they do now wanting a older person to buy them Coke, Herion, Hits etc like they do now for Beer and cigarettes. I don't want to see 12 and 13 year old kids in my town tripping there balls off and smoking Crack. Do You , You just could not control who's hands it falls into its easy enuff to get it now do you want to make it 100 times more easy to get ? The bottom line is drugs will never ever be legal, The penalties for users should not be so harsh. The criminal justice systum is to hard on drug addicts they should learn its a disease and treat it like one. Look how over crowded are Jails and prisons are now with drug users.look how much money drug addcits cost the goveremnt now with Crime,Social services,Rehabs and treatment,Jailing Them,Welfare,The Homeless, etc I agree with you something has to be done the country and society in general has to make dramatic changes on the way we think about drugs and drud addcits. I don't now what the final solution will be ? But I know one thing it can't keep going like the way it is. The war on drugs was lost many years ago ? We have to learn to accept that and make changes !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A lot of drugs have medicinal uses. Psilocybin possibly cures cluster headaches, which are these super terrible migraines which come on with no warning. I guess this guy had really early onset Parkinson's disease and he took X at a club and when he was high he could dance and shit, but scientists suspect it might cause Parkinson's too. LSD had promising research about its schizophrenia curing power, but the Government shut that shit down.

To the previous poster, its a little contradictory to believe that there are drugs that should be illegal, and yet, be a drug user yourself. Legalization is not about safety of drug to the individual, its about the unconstitutional laws forbidding them. drugs are taken intentionally, and the user remains responsible for all actions under the influence. I honestly believe society would not change significantly if the Controlled Substances Act was repealed. I do think there should be a age restriction on some drugs though.

csp101-I bet if you lived in the crime ridden Ghetto and had a Crack house across the street from you and had Gang Members dealing herion outside your house you would not think like that ? come on man think please how the hell could coke,Herion or Meth ever be legal or given out in a orderly way. You could not hand out enuff of it to a addcit. The places that handed it out would last about 2 seconds before some strung out junkie robs them at gun point. Shit I love doing drugs but I am not stupid eather drugs fucking kill people and society. I am all for making pot legal but thats about it. All the other shit that I myself love so much should be illegal. I know dam well when I am shooting dope or sniffing a line of coke thats it wrong and bad for people. I hate when I see young kids doing hard drugs if only they knew what the fuck they are getting into and how shitty there life is going to be down the road if they keep doing them. There is No way I want it to be easier for kids to get hard Drugs no fucking way. LOL-But for me I wish it was easier I wish so dam bad my local corner store sold coke, dope and hits.

I don't think legalizing drugs would improve anything besides the price you get them at. Whether it's legal or not still doesn't determine whether the people it effects are going to start being better people vs. strung out junkies. And I don't think anybody will approve upon their quality of life if they can get what they really love in life any time they need it and at affordable amounts. And if they don't make it affordable, well than there is a good reason to have the store robbed at gun point, or who the fuck knows what they would bring if they had the opportunity to basically rob a bank full of Kilo's of coke, H, and other things. I could only imagine the society we would have if people were given hard drugs like candy.

And I find the fact the OP gave a positive use of cocaine to be funny. Yeah, it MAKES people think they are all that and full of energy, but from the sober side people on coke look like fidgeting pale malnourished people with stringy hair and painted on eyebrows, lol.

Drugs benefitting certain people would definitely be true, but so would the opposite. There will always be the people who will abuse the priviledge, and still have no goals in life beyond scoring some more of what they want. Certain drugs wouldn't cause problems if legalized because they don't cause overpowering addictions, at least in the shooting down a store at gun point sense.

All I got to say is that with the legalization of anything there has to be more education about it.

I'm pretty much for the legalization of everything mainly for tax purposes because instead of losing billions of dollers everyyear combating drugs revenue could be made which could in turn then be used to increase education about said substance.

I never want to see meth or many other amphetamines for the most part legalized. I HAVE seen what those can do to do families and people. My neighbor just got evicted from his house a behind mine a month or two ago. He always had that putrid rotting shit stench coming out of it.....

If drugs are so easy to make money off of, then making a, bank like building to sell them in will make the place be robbed just as much as any other bank. Besides the price would be so cheap you can make enough money to get what you want by holding a sign saying "homeless" for a few hours.

Problem is people DO NOT use things in moderation or safely.

Look at how many people are keeling over from lung cancer and how many idiots drive drunk.

People are too stupid to handle a lot of drugs.

[IMG] I've been to Amsterdam. summer of '06. I was with my parents, though
    :(

ALSO!.....we wouldn't be shipping $80 billion annually to foreign countries like Afghanistan and venezuela for our illegal drugs (possibly funding terrorists). We legalize all drugs, and produce them ourselves, that money stays here, and might be used for rehab and other drug-awareness programs.

Shocbomb, when you describe legal drug stores getting held up at gunpoint for drugs, you're describing our current culture and one of its symptoms of drug suppression. If we legalized right now and had drug bars, they might get get robbed straight away. But I think after we decriminalize for a while and educate for a while, we'd be at a point where ALL drugs would be available for legal sale and it wouldn't have ill effects. It's all theory; none of us really know what would happen if we legalized everything, but keeping all that drug money in America is a compelling enough reason for me to think about it. Plus, Amsterdam is a microcosm of these principles, and they have relatively low crime (except petty theft on tourists, which a lot of europe has)

I agree and disagree with most of you. If we make the less addictive drugs more available, the use of the harder drugs should go down, right? And as some have said before me, our goverment could make some money, and eventually pay off our multi-billion dollar debts. But then there is the problem of the minors using someone to get them some like they already do with the alcohol and cigaretts.
