I don't know why I didn't think of this before, starting a new thread that is. I joined this forum to drum up some listeners, and the "Rules" say that you can't promote anything in your introduction message(apparently nobody reads those anyway), but it doesn't say you can't start a new thread in the appropriate forum, so here goes. I have a Psychedelic Radio Show called Travel With Your Mind(any Seeds fans out there recognize this phrase?) . I play all manner of Psychedelia from the 60's to today, from San Francisco to Japan, from acid fueled flower power to smack fueled shoegaze, from the most laid back Krautrock to the most heavy Stoner rock(actually that's a bit of an exaggeration, I only play the Krautrock stuff that's closer to Psych, but just wanted to throw that in there to give you more of an idea of the diversity involved). Okay I think you've got the picture now. It's on Saturdays at 2am EST on WCOM in Carrboro, NC(www.communityradio.coop) , and my podcast for those of you not up at that hour is at http://travelwithyourmind.podomatic.com/ . You can leave me comments there or here, or email me at the same address except replace the first . with an @. It's a 2 hour show(occasionally longer) and the second hour is always kicked off with a half hour mini concert from one artist(usually unreleased) or a half hour mixed live set. I should point out at this point that I am not a Deadhead and don't play any Grateful Dead on my show. That goes double for modern Jam Bands(Jerry's kids). So all you young wannabe hippies who are not openminded enough to check out something that involves more than one chord progression being repeated over and over ad nauseum probably wouldn't be interested. (Sorry I don't mean to be negative, it's just that when I say Psychedelic to some people that's all they can think of, and it's just not what it's all about, as I'm sure alot of you probably already know, but there are alot of young people here who have only been exposed to The Dead and their ilk, and just don't know) I don't play alot of hits either. If I play some Hendrix once in a while, it won't be Purple Haze or Hey Joe. I'm mostly into the more obscure bands that people raised on American Commercial Radio would never have had the opportunity to hear. Those of you in Europe are lucky enough to have heard The Pretty Things, Hawkwind, Gong, Soft Machine, etc. years ago , so I'm not aiming any of this at you. Alright, enough blather from me. Go check it out and let me know what you think.
