I was just wanting to see what other people feel is a long distance relationship.. like how far away?
I guess it's a long distance when you can't just jump in the car and drive for a few hours to be with your love, when you actually have to plan weeks or even months in advance when you can see each other again.
yea i wouldnt consider an hour or so a long distant one, more like a few thousand miles away or in another country
My girlfriend and I have been dating for just under a year and a half and haven't been apart for more than a 3 week period when I went with my family to Europe. Now I am studying abroad and we are about 3,000 miles apart for the semester (4.5 months). Its been 41 days so far and its really hard! I find myself missing her constantly as we spent nearly every day together before. Its very strange being so far and only talking online and on the phone. On the bright side I think our conversations have been more in depth and I've found out some really touching and personal things about her that I didn't know before, I also feel a lot more comfortable talking about the way I feel about things. I'm really glad we are talking this openly. I'm not sure if it has something to do with the distance, aim, or just being the natural time for finding out deep things in the relationship but either way I'm just happy. I'll be going back to visit her in 10 days time so I'm really excited!!! Its only a 5 day stay but I think it will be wonderful!
I think LD relationships can work out, as long as you have a plan on seeing eachother again or plans for the future together. When there is a light at the end of the tunnel, I think you can get through anything.
