i accidentally laughed - now i feel kinda bad. lol

it was my brothers birthday yesterday... and when me and my brothers were gonna go and meet up with our cousins... my mom said to my brother.. "happy birthday, im sorry i didn't get you any presents, but thats okay, cause God will get you some presents"

and being the atheist that i am.. i laughed. lol.
usually i wouldnt. usually, i just wouldn't say anything, cause i respect peoples beliefs and stuff.. especially if they're strong believers (like my mom) but this time, for some reason i laughed. lol.
and my moms like.. "don't laughh"
and my bros were like.. "what is she laughing at?"
and my mom was like "me, cause she doesn't believe in god"
then my bros were like "oh shit, are you serious? man, she's evil."
my mom started laughing. lol - and i was still laughing.
and i was like.. "i can't help it... sorry" while still laughing..
then my brother says to me "... can't believe you... you're gonna go to hell."
i was stil laughing, and was like.. "haha, ohh well.. don't believe in hell either." lol

but thats not the only thing i've laughed at that whole day.. i've been laughing at many things i shouldn't have laughed at, and don't normally laugh at. lol. its not like i was high or anything though... just a weird day i guess... lol :S

Yeah, I do it too sometimes. I really do try to respect religious people, but sometimes they say the weirdest stuff...

I always feel bad about it too.

I remember we were in our school assembly once and the head was talking about some nasty old guy having an argument with some kids.The kids said "why dont u hurry up and die u old fucker".Well the head teacher informed us all , that immediately after that , die was exactly what the old guy did.
Of course the whole hall of 700 sat in silence.Except me , because I burst out laughing.
And before that it was the ultra camp born again Christian , and before that this 11 year old chorister who's voice was breaking while he was singing( I could go on..) etc etc
Nope a good laugh does you good - well if u arent sacked from work or expelled from school for it.LOL

I bet she said it with such conviction too.. that would have made me laugh too. Why is it that the penalty for not believing must always be a trip to hell? I tend to scoff, not laugh when in situations like that. One time a jehovah's witness asked if I had accepted jehova as my savior. I laughed and said no, jeebus is my savior. she didnt know what the fuck to say. I am all about tolerance when dealing with religious fanatics, but if you open yourself up for religious talk, then take it if you can give it. hey, its not as bad a s laughing at a picture of Ray Charles singing into the wrong end of a mike. i laughed for hours. then I felt like I had kicked a bag of puppies. LOL

hey Shroom Land I just wanted to say that I really appreciate your laughter. I was noticing in other places on this forum that you laugh at what may seem inappropriate times but it feels really good and diffusing. That's a very cool thing.

thank you. laughter is a special gift. I used to laugh in the middle of hair cuts and practically every time my parents got pissed at me. and of course it wasn't one of those little chuckles it was that uncontrollable tears down the face kind of thing. my parents hated me not really but it would make them so angry. There's nothing like laughter to deflate somebody coming at you. I mean come on how much power can they hold over you if you're laughing. lol

 

laughing at random things is what makes my life.
