about a week and a half ago, i stopped eating meat (well, i guess i accidentally ate some clam chowder in the middle of that period, but whatever). i was already not eating that much meat, so it wasnt too huge of a change for me. but even after only a short period of time, i feel so much better. I´m actually surprised by the improvement I feel. for the past couple of years, i´ve already been cutting out partially hydrogenated oils, monosodium glutamate, high fructose corn syrup, excessive ingredients, etc. And of course, focusing on cage-free eggs (when i do get them - usually from a friend´s farm), organic milk, ORGANIC for pretty much everything... so it was a logical step to finally stop eating meat altogether. i even noticed that my sense of taste has improved. for example, i always go to this sandwich/cheese place near my house and get their veggie sandwich (THE BEST sandwich i have ever had. it´s fucking ridiculous.). when ever i had it, it was always a welcomed break from eating meat. but after stopping, i could taste each individual vegetable and ingredient in the sandwich. it was a different experience. so anyways, i´m loving it and I can´t believe I hadn´t done this a long time ago. i went grocery shopping today, which more fun than usual because i saw everything in a new way. already, i think i´m eating healthier than i ever have because i´m more conscious of what i´m putting into my body. every day, it takes a little bit of effort (which i like) to think about what I can and should eat. from what i´ve already seen, i´m excited to continue on this journey!
Goood! It is a good feeling to be putting good stuff in your body, I love it and I take pride in it honestly. You are treating your body well
