Just as long as nobody around here goes by the name of Miss Cleo, Dione Warwick, or John Edwards, you can be assured our gifts are genuine [IMG]

I remember learning about card-punch machines in university. We had a wall in the computer labs called the "museum of computing history". There was the only card-punch machine I ever laid eyes on.

Sorry, zen, not trying to make you feel old, just trying to relate ;)

    1. everybody is psychic
    2. crazies get healing here
    3. it's weak to consider oneself spiritually advanced

Psychic Vampires on the internet ? oh , ya , and making the conquest of a psychic forum is the big cookie . first the confidence set-up , then ... a vital energy problem . creating the angry blow-out might be too obvious . a victim community can as well be casually devoured , crumb by crumb . the gift diminishes .

i knew someone like that--not on the net though--but in a small country community. he came in, set up shop and blew people's minds with his psychic/magic abilities. at first he seemed to be of the light--but he was very vain. he solicited young pretty girls that just worshiped him and he kept them as "students"....he taught classes but was not inclusive. most (good guy) psychics love to bond and work with other gifteds--there is enough for everyone-cross promotion is good and you build a nice little network. not this guy...he was the guru for everything and made his students fearful of anything that didn't come from him.

the vampire part of him was that he was able to enter people's dreams (one of the ways he convinced some in the community to follow him) anyway, some felt 'possessed' by him. it wasn't a good scene.

he was really into vanity spells, love charms etc--goes to show you were he resonated at.

It sounds like you're describing some particular person or persons you've encountered. Have you or are you seeing psychic vampires on this forum?

This is the only psychic forum I've spent significant time on, so I don't have anything to compare with, but it has been interesting watching this one over the last year or so.

given the right circumstances I think anybody's energy field can get pretty messy. I was a part of a group a few years back that was bent on radically advancing our vibrational state. It was way intense. Just using group meditation, crystal bowls, homeopathics, etc. we had all kinds of interesting experiences. It was legit but not natural. Everything happened too fast and our teacher kind of fell into the guru, partially of her own accord and partially because we put her there. And then all of the negative aspects of all our fields exploded and collided and the group kind of did a supernova. It's kind of what happens when you let go of everything that held you back and then reassign all of those negative associations to something new without diffusing them.

I'm really glad I did it in retrospect because it taught me a lot about the nature of growth and gurus and all of that. It took me a couple of years to recover though. Sometimes I still feel the remnants of that stuff.

That there's a community like this I think is pretty cool where you can just come together and share experience and stuff and then people can grow at their own rate. I appreciate that. Cool thread. :)
