Ok to start this out I just need some simple advice. I am an 80mg oc user perday, a lot of times more and as you know it is killing my wallet. i am trying to just get a script from a doc. Here is the deal I have some back problems and I was told by a buddy to go to a pain management specialist to get a script. In AZ i have heard docs dispense em like condoms here i HAVE NO IDEA. Maybe some suggestions from you guys please! this is my first time posting on here but I have been on this site several hundred times and have not seen any suggestions on this. Please post if you really have some kind of solid info it would be much appreciated. Oh some other info, im in my late twenties (got that working against me) and have scoliosis that is quite painfull at times but have never tried to get any meds for it. Also my guess is they will try to give me percs at first which are a waste of time for me. Do I need to accept the percs and come back to tell em they do not work or what!

You can't just ask for Oxycontin 80s if they prescibe you percs for the first time, that would def be sketchy and they'd know right away. Take the percs and come back a month or two later and say they weren't helping the pain very much, and ask for different alternatives.

I honestly would go with deadhead420's suggestion, just move up to heroin.

It's cheaper and stronger, seems to be your best bet.

Ok, they'll give you percs at first. Thats standard. At least those will help keep you from withdrawin while you wait to get hooked up. Or worst comes to worst, you could sell those and use the extra cash to buy OC's while you wait, haha.

After they give you percs, you should wait a couple weeks then go back and tell them that:

    A. Your pain isn't under control. You need them to increase your dosage.
    B. You have had trouble sleeping.
    C. (Put on an act for this one) "I need to be real honest with you doc, these percs haven't been able to control my pain, and at times I found myself exceeding the dose you prescribed, and because of that, I realized I was taking WAY too much acetaminophen. I'm worried about taking so much APAP for any period of time. Is there another alternative for my pain that wouldn't carry that risk?"
    D. You find that often times you take a percocet and the an hour or two later, the pain comes right back. Ask if there is something that is "longer acting".

The "trouble sleeping" part is key, because the long acting OC would mean that you don't need to wake up in the middle of the night to take another percocet.

Also, by playing dumb about the different options for pain relief, you seem more legitimate in your requests. The scholiosis is also a plus because prior medical conditions make doctors more likely to dispense strong narcotics to those in their twenties (I should know, I've got my own prescription for Percocet 10/325's and OC 20's and I'm 21).

Also, go to your primary care doctor, tell him about your "consistent, chronic" pain, and ask for a referral to a pain management specialist. Having your doctor refer you helps to make you seem more legitimate.

Alright, good luck man. It worked for me (although I really do have some pretty bad chronic pain, and have had to go through a lot of testing and specialist appointments in order to continue getting my scripts), so hopefully this will work for you.

Getting a month's worth of OC for 20 bucks via my insurance is SO much better than paying 20 bucks a pill and having to worry that your hookup will dissapear any day.

    Again, good luck.

Yeah, no doctor is going to hand out Oxycontin to a first-time patient. And, honestly, I wouldn't go by the assumption that most doctors in a certain area of the country hand out scripts for pain killers like candy. That's a huge generalization. It's all going to depend on your condition and what treatment the doctor feels is most appropriate. Most doctors will try alternative methods before putting a patient on opiates. If you have arthritis or pain due to an injury, they may give you a low dosage of Percocet (on an as-needed basis) in combination with therapy. If that doesn't work, he/she may send you to a pain management specialist or something like that. Perhaps after a few months, and if all else fails, he may decide that pain killers are the best option. But Oxycontin is really only prescribed if the patient is in need of round-the-clock pain relief. So, in other words, you'll have to convince the doctor that you're in need of strong narcotics on a regular basis 24 hours a day.

I feel for ya, james ryan. except I could seldom find oc's on the street. But I've had constant, daily headaches since last May. I've gone through costly scans, physical therapy, acupuncture, chiropractic, and some of the most awful drugs on the planet (depakote, imipremine, which made me insane. many others). I seriously feel like I've gone to hell and back.

But it's falling into place now. My neurologist said recently that maybe we should try oxycontin or morphine. He started me on 10mg insta-release oxycodones, and said we'll increase dosage next time. I always knew he gave some people oc's. There was a pen with the oxycontin label on it and I always saw scripts written for oc's, but I never knew why I wasn't getting any. Finally I realized that they are willing to give them, after all else fails. It definitely hurt me that I'm in my mid 20's. The ER doc told me as much once.

so yeah it is worth it to go through dr's, but you might have to be patient, Unless you have a history of chronic pain.

I guess not dressing like a total fucking idiot could help you too... None of that rocawear, pepe, southpole, etc. None of the spiked bracelets, studded belts, nose piercings, lip piercings, etc.

When I dress in a formal dress shirt and dress pants and shave my face, I look like I have never touched a drug in my life, like I'm a devout christian with god on my fucking shoulder.

I bet you I could pull it off, I'm just not a junkie so there's really no point.

Twizz makes a great point about how you present yourself when going to a Doctor for painkillers, This does not only apply for asking for painmeds it comes in handy when buying drugs on the street also. If you are in a black or Hispanic Area buying drugs first off the cops are not stupid if you are white they now what you are doing there, Another thing that stands out to the cops and they have said this themselfs is when they see a person wearing clothes like Tommy Hill, Nautica, and designer hip hop clothes, Tie died shirts, Rock band t shirts,Baggy pants, facial pearcings, even taking off your hat and wearing a long sleeved shirt to cover up your tattoos will help, The bottom line is Make sure when you go and buy your shit in the Ghetto you don't look like the streotypical person who is there to buy drugs. The cops might just pass you buy. Every time I travel into the Bronx to buy my Herion and coke I wear clothes like I am working there on a carpentry or construction sight. It makes it look like even though I am white that I belong there becasue I am working there. I am telling you this helps and will cut the odds of you getting caught.

whats up yall, ive been lurking here for awhile now, and just finally registered today..

i like to do OC recreationally (40 mg every few days or so) and potentate with 75 mg of DXM to help keep my tolerance low. Until recently, I had been getting 40's for $10, which I thought was a great deal-- but alas, my source has dried up and I don't know anywhere else to get them. Unfortunately, none of my friends are into OC (and they don't like me doing it) so they're no help. Found a (seemingly) reliable source online, but the sticker shock was enough to keep me away.

So now I'm looking into the possibilities of getting a script legally. Anyone in Maryland know a doc that wont give you too hard of a time? With no history of chronic pain, what would be the best away to go about getting a script? I've never *tried* to get pain meds before, although I was prescribed Vicodin when I was in the hospital for a diverticulitis flare-up. Any ideas?? Thanks!

hey danknugz, good to have ya. this place kicks ass. I think the first thing ppl will tell you about getting pills from a doc is that they are very unlikely to give decent pk's out to ppl with no history of chronic pain. At best you can get perc's to help your wd's; if they offer you vicodin, say it gives you headaches or something (unless you want those).

I don't believe it's very easy to get oc's from a doc unless you've been complaining to him about the same consistent pain for at least six months. You'll want to reasearch and find a type of pain that you can easily fake and there is a minimum of tests and medicines for it. I've had headaches for 9 months, and while they're finally giving me good pills, I've had thousands of dollars of medical bills for every failed attempt until now. Really, they give a pk regimen only after everything else fails. I've been to hell and back and have exercised more patience than I thought I was capable, but it's worth it. :p

WOW bud if you got a 80+mg/day tolerance you are NOT going to a doctor to get a damn thing, sorry. Medical professionals are not retarded and they know drug seeking behavior and unless you are REALLY seriously damaged you will never be perscribed OCs by a legit physician... Now get a bounty hunter a 100 bucks to find the crookedest sonofagun in town and ask THAT doctor, holdin a fistfull of cash....
