I have had one of those embarassing nasty cysts right above my ass and its startin to hurt and give me bad back pain (for having to sit in awkward positions to not put pressure on the cyst) Im goin to the Doc for the first time tomorrow, whats the chance that he gives me some vicodin or something? I do oxy codone recreationally (Oxy contin) and have a high opiate tolerance but vicodin still takes away my pain but I cant really get fucked up from it. I just want it for the pain. Should I say this to the doc? Im gonna tell him that the cyst is starting to hurt bad and that its giving me back pain, but im not going to ask for pills. Or should I? Im 20 years old BTW.
Well hydrocodone has no ceiling so you coulddd get fucked up from it, even OD . Don't ask for pills just describe the pain.
TreatmentTreatment for a pilonidal cyst usually begins when the patient goes to the doctor because of pain. It is treated as an infection, and a doctor might prescribe antibiotics as well as hot compresses and the application of depilatory creams to the lower back. Often the cyst is lanced, and surgery is a method that has met with some success for curing pilonidal cysts. Surgery on a cyst in the natal cleft may involve cutting out the skin and sinus in this area (excision). If the wound is packed, the patient or someone close to the patient is trained to replace the gauze packings. They must be replaced daily for 4 to 8 weeks (but healing, and therefore bandage changes, can last up to 1 year). The condition can recur, even after surgery. The chance of recurrence is much greater if the wound is sutured in the midline, compared to excellent results if the resultant scar is away from the midline, thus obliterating the natal cleft and therefore removing the focus of shearing stresses. Some people develop a chronic non-healing pilonidal sinus which must be treated with surgical excision and is bettered by relieving pressure on the tailbone.
Hmm, ok. Thanks for the input def. At this point the pain is legit, tho i was thinking about fakin a lil more pain into (like someone else said in a different thread). I wasnt sure if there was a chance of gettin some vicodin with the first visit. I havnt dosed oxy codone for a few days cause I needed a break and also needed to have clean piss for drug tests (employment not probation). Theres always been pain with the cyst, but I guess from having to sit in awkward positions for 6 months has started to take a toll on my back. Right now my back hurts constantly, as in the pain is not going away. I can take it, its just so damn annoying. I dont even want these pills to get fucked up on. I want them to take the damn pain away(back and cyst) , but am afraid the Doc is going to think otherwise. Hah, yeah. Cant really take more then 5 tho, because of the apap in them. It would take over 250mg of oxy codone to make me OD so I dont think Ill ever OD on hydrocodone at this point in time. I definitely see what you are sayin tho. And yeah Im not going to directly ask for pills.
Get that shit sorted early bro, I had one and was too embarrassed to get it looked at.... a few months later I needed surgery, contracted MRSA in the hospital and needed a district nurse at my house everyday for 8 months to change the dressing. And shit did it hurt, and the bloody doc would only give me codeine/paracetamol
Yeah thats what I figured. I was waitin for it to go away but it aint. I think what Im gonna tell the doc is that I have pain in the cyst and in my back. Im gonna tell him I can handle the pain from the cyst as long as its not swelled up, but that the back pain is getting ridiculous. Even right now, my back effin hurts more by the minute and its pissin me off. Also, when I do get surgery, what the hell do I do about my opiate tolerance? Like before they cut me open, I feel like I should say somethin...cause I dont wanna feel that shit. When I do dilaudid I dose 16mg and I barely feel anything, but thats not IV and I know dilaudid is like 200% more effective when its injected. And I DO have an opiate tolerance. I guess Ill just tell em its a natural tolerance...hah. They'll probably see right through me. Oh wel.
hahahah, yeah, I just may have to lol. If i stop now though I probably wont have to have any surgery for at least a while and my tolerance will go down. Seems like the best route anyways.
Ok so I didnt get pills today but theyre comin definitely. I just have one question. This chick I know, she didnt do an recreational drugs or anythin- but she had a minor surgery, got some m357's and called the Doc few days later sayin she was allergic to them and that they gave her hives. it was legit, she wasnt lying cause she has no reason to..but the Doc didnt question it at all, and didnt request the old pills back. He just gave her a new script of lortab which is still hydrocodone but its 10mg...then she said she was allergic to them and she got perk 5s! Does this really work this easily???????? Cause im def gonna try this at least once.
Yes. It is that easy. I have NEVER been prescribed hydrocodone because every time I go to the doctor for pain, and they offer hydrocodone, I say (in a very naive manner) "Oh, is that the same thing that is in Vicodin? I can't take that because it makes me sick to my stomach.." Then the doctor just says, ok, what about percocet then? Also, you can try this strategy to get a higher dose: tell your doc, after the previous conversation, that you've been prescribed the percocet before by another doctor for any plausible condition (wisdom tooth removal, root canal, broken leg, injured knee, etc) and that you had to have him increase the dose to 10/325's because the 5/325's weren't effective enough. Seriously, if you have a real medical condition like your cyst and you tell your doc that you are in some way allergic to hydro's and that you have a tolerance (as long as you explain the tolerance in some legitimate medical way) then you should be able to get the highest potency percocet (which are 10/325). Go for it, and good luck -V
My friend was prescibed 5 mg percs for lymes disease , and then called a couple days later saying they made him extremely itchy, and he got a script for hydrocodone with a refill.
I've had the same experience that Verisimilitude & Guitar described. I was on Percocet 10/325 for some time but once I developed a tolerance I asked my doctor for something stronger so I didn't have to take so many pills. My doctor recommended different meds including Oxycontin, Dilaudid, Opana, and MS Contin. Some worked, some didn't. Some made me sick, some were too strong. But whenever he gives me a new medication, he always tells me to let him know how they're working. If I have a problem with them he just writes me a script for something else. I've never heard of doctors asking for the old medication back. Do some doctors actually do this? A lot of people on here ask what they can expect from their doctor in terms of pain killers when they go in for a specific condition. It all really depends on the doctor. After surgery though, I doubt any doctor would deny a patient opiates.
As a rule, most family practitioners won't ask for the old script back (unless they want the pills for themselves, lol). There is an increasing trend for pain management physicians who require the return of the "ineffective medication" before a stronger med is dispensed. oh, and to Verisimilitude: the thing about being naive? works 95% of the time, heh
I had a pilonidal cyst too. They suck..I actually had surgery 3 times for it. Once to remove it, then 2 more because the damn hole wouldn't stay closed. This was years ago.. but just recently, I tore open the hole just a slight amount, it got infected (not desired) and it was all red and oozy, so I went to the doctor to get vicodin for it. I am currently trying to find a way to have it slightly ripped open again so I can get possibly better meds for it....
I know that pharmacies can't take medication back once you leave with it. If a doc wanted pills back before giving new ones, he'd just throw them away, since I believe it's illegal to "recycle" drugs.
Well, heres an update. Didnt get surgery, but got the cyst cut out and packed up. Got 35 perk 5's out of it. Might try to get another script maybe.
