Proud To Be An American....?

Are you...I think as an American we have some good liberties and rights and stuff. Like we can speak against our goverment without to much risk...but look at all the horrible stuff the United States has done in the past. I am completely agains the war in Iraq, I support the troops, but not the politicians and goverment. basical my question is for everyone, of any nationality. Are you proud to be from where ever your from....Im pride to be a white male, so basicaly i pride myself on my european decent.

I'm not proud to be an American. i wouldn't be proud to be any nationality. personally i don't really believe in government, borders, or nationalities.
I'm a traveler. a member of the world.

 

i dont reall give a shit, i mean i have it pretty good here rather than all of the poor countries that dont. people from other countries say we are fucked, but shit happens when your country is full of people from nearly every other country on earth

 

we are the castaways, refugees, unwanted, and unneeded of other societies, cultures, religions, and governments. While we all came to this country thinking that freedom would truly be ours, and in a way we are more free then quite a few we are also not infallible just as everyone else is not either. I'm proud to be an American in the camaraderie of our and our ancestors undertook deciscions to break the shackles that they were bound from, im happy i have a chance to get a good education and live something that can be remotely called a "normal life" but i dont agree with everything our government has done or will do in the future.

Nationalistic pride is not always a good thing.

I feel like a world citizen. I should marry a British girl, their passports can get ya into practically any country.

 

But you do belong to some nationality and government as we speak, otherwise you'd be out living in a fucking cave somewhere - certainly not on a computer. Your a number somewhere, unless you go live with the indians.. and even they are still a number.


Annnnyways. I'm proud of who I am, where I come from, and the people we are.. even if we are all so imperfect and confused we can all forgive and make forward progress because it's never too late. Just because our government is so fucked doesn't mean we should shame our way of life, and the country we live in. So yes I'm proud as fuck to be American.

 

Try to minimize the issue but I'm keepin' it large, love the place I live but I hate the people in charge.

 

thats pretty much what im saying...my family was czech and irish, and engish....and im proud of it you know...I've got European heritage...i believe that Europeans are the most inteligent and Intilectual of the ancient societies...

Anyway, how can you be proud of heritage, nationality, race? How can you be proud to be born in a certain way - It took no amount of energy.

It's so juvenile to be proud of something that isn't even an accomplishment. How can you be proud that you just happened to be born into a nationality, heritage, race?

Humanity really needs to move forward with this, and just grow the fuck up.

Most intelligent societies? We can't even pinpoint what intelligence is all about.

There are only 400 genes out of 2 billion within the human genome that seperates the 'races'.

Variety of cultures is beautiful, but it just adds to the big picture: The human culture.

Im not really proud to be an american, lol...im proud to be of European Decent, because like i said before i believe Europeans were superior back in ancient times....I'm also proud that my family took the risk and dealt with the srtuggle of migrating here to have a better life.

 

Europeans are supperior?

That's a ridiculously ignorant statement. Technology and imperialism does not make you superior.

I can just as easily argue that the Kalahari Bushmen are superior because they are still in touch with their natural roots and humane insticts... something that Europeans gave up before anyone else.

 

Im not proud of anything. The closest emotion to pride I allow myself to experience is the bliss of watching my son grow, but I only helped usher him into existance, I didnt create him and hes not me, so it's not pride, it's just happyness
