well, let's look around at what's actually happening, what we are actually experiencing right now. does it feel like something is ending? beginning? transforming? has there been a significant difference in your social interactions? your day to day quality of life? the deepness of your ponderings? the volume and intensity of your internal monologue? the vividness of your dreams? the frequency of meaningful coincidence, or the feeling of being guided to something? is there more or less love in your life? what's going on in your reality? what are you moving towards? i have my own answers, but they aren't what matter in your case. only the questions.
2012 is a good estimate for a change in human evolution. The question is whether or not the evolution will be for the better or for the worse.
right on, yesiam... so many of us choose to freak out and get all worked up instead of using our amazing skills of perception
my point was that, rather than focusing on whether or not something is going to happen in the future, we might try looking at our lives as they are right now. is there room for improvement? are we all behaving in a healthy manner all of the time? it seems that when we put all of our focus on the future it takes away the importance of responsibilty in the present-like when you think about working out and never do, you just keep on thinking about it. plenty of examples. anyways, it doesn't matter who is right. just that we start asking ourselves these questions.
The Oracle of Delphi is who i believe you're thinking of. She had the mental capacity of a glue sniffer, due to the fumes leaking into the cave she lived in. Still it's an awfully big coincidence that all these sources you mentioned, as well as the man who came to be known as King Arthur's Merlin (i saw the same special. Hell i have it saved on my tivo to save me the effort of explaining it all when i introduce the idea to someone who's clueless. I love the history channel.) all got the same date. December 22 2012. Who knows what could happen between now and then, but i believe it was prophecized (sp?) somewhere along the line that the end would begin with nuclear war in 2008. I don't see any evidence to the contrary on that one. things seem to be spiralling more and more out of control. It's funny that the older more respected members of my community know all about this. It's not just the "conspiracy nuts" and college kids. Makes me wonder if it is some kind of ancient knowledge passed through groups like the rosicrucians and templars to the freemasons. Reagan was once quoted as saying this may be the generation to face the apocolypse. Who knows with that guy, but I would like to watch the apocolypse. If 2012 is the end of the ride and the park's closin down i want to be one of the last out of the gate. i want to see how it goes down. Was L Ron right? is xenu coming to pick us up? Or do we just destroy ourselves?
The question should not be when the world will end, but what we will accomplish now. I'm sure its been said before, is why I put it in quote form Duno about you guys, but I am thoroughly enjoying being a part of the story as it is told
it's not about being correct, it's about being positive and maintaining an outlook on life that is beneficial to yourself and to everyone around you. you're not going to be right all the time because no one is, and you're not expected to be.
i've often thought of the "apocalypse" as a symbolic story of the process of life and death, all occurring on an individual level.
The point is that on a time line, things are moving faster and faster. So I might not agree with the specific date, I do believe that things are changing at an exponential rate. I do not necessarily believe it will be the end of the world as much as a shift in human evolution.
