what breed(s) do you think my puppy is? I am not going to tell you what breed(s) the shelter told me he was because I would like some opinions from people. Please let me know what breeds you think he may be. He is 9 weeks old in these pictures. What do you think?? All opinions are greatly appreciated. =)
He is absolutely gorgeous. Congratulations! The animal gods have blessed you with a beautiful soul. I see a chocolate Lab with maybe some retriever mixed in, and some pit somewhere in there cause of the white spot on his chest
omg he is just to die for! you must be so happy im gonna say chocolate lab with maybe some pitbull. its hard to tell when theyre so young though.
He is simply just too cute and you are both so fortunate and blessed to have found one another! I would say he is most absolutely a Chocolate Labrador Retriever! I can say this with much certainty, since last weekend a veterinary friend asked me to help her with an identical pure breed puppy who was brought into this world by a back yard breeder and he was born with a congenital liver shunt and may not survive into adulthood. He now has three veterinarians, a general practitioner, an ultrasound specialist and a board certified surgeon who are going to help me help him free of charge. I thought is was really cool that they have such faith in mine and my dogs healing abilities to help out this little one, but even so, any and all prayers for him would be much appreciated. He came to me named "Onion", but in a dream the other night I discovered his true name which is now "Bodie" and he was born October 31, 2007. Here are a couple of pictures for you to compare to your beautiful puppy too... The best to you and your loving puppy!
Definitely NOT purebred chocolate Labrador Retriever. But I'd say he's got a lot of that, and a little bit of American Pit Bull Terrier
chocolate lab with pit bull mix perhaps? He has the color & legs like a young choco. lab, but his body & jaws remind me of a pit...so maybe that's it. He's very adorable!
Thank you all for your opinions.... much appreciated. When I first went to the shelter, his cage was labeled as a pit mix. All his sisters & brothers looked like pits, he was the only one that had a lab resemblence. They put me thru A LOT to adopt him JUST b/c he was labeled as a pit mix. I had to have a backround check and they had to talk to my past vets and they had to make sure the home owner's insurance covered him.... it was crazy.... anyways, he has kind of a sad story, his mother & the 7 pups were surrendered to a surrounding shelter. The mother was gassed immediately (someone at the shelter i got him from said they saw his mother and she was definitely a BOXER). The pups were only about a week or two old when she was gassed and they were about to be gassed too until the humane society i got him from stepped in and said they would hand feed the pups. So him and his siblings were hand fed since birth basically.... anyways then his brother was euthanized at the H.S. because he had parvo. His 2 sisters were sick with it as well when I adopted him, I'm not sure of their status now though. He has shown no signs. He seemed to be the biggest of the litter and possibly that had some effect on him not getting sick.... sorry, i'm rambling.... to answer everyone's question on what breed he is, his paper's say boxer mix, but his neuter certificate says pit mix.... I BELIEVE Vic is a pit/boxer/lab mix.... until he or someone proves me otherwise....... lol. I'd still love to hear anyone's opinion if they have one. =) thanks to everyone for their input.
so so cute, id say chocolate lab and boxer. I have a fawn boxer and the white markings on the chest are like my scooby's....
