i've been sort of struggling with this for most of my teenage years. i believe in 6th grade - 8th grade my bra size was a 34C. well as i got into high school they slowly grew. Now today i'm a 36D and I HATE them with a burning buring passion. last year i was about 155 pounds and i had a 38D. I decided i wanted to be healthy and i didn't feel like being called fat anymore i lost a bunch of weight and for the past year i've been 130 pounds but i barely lost any boobage!! what gives? i only went down one size when in reality i was praying i would be a C again. anyway shirts never fit me properly,i have to buy a large just so my boobs will fit in anything, i can't ever find a decent bra that isnt hidious and i feel like my breasts make me look heavier than i really am and i'm dying to be a 34 C again. I'm really starting to consider breast reduction but i doubt my insurence will cover it. i do have slight back pain but with my luck thats probably not what its from.
Hey there. First of all I've never had the problem that you have but I understand just by seeing what my friends have gone through. What you'll need to do is talk to your doctor. He might refer you to a chiropractor. That will get the ball rolling in terms of your insurance company paying for it. I used to work for one of the biggest insurance companies in the US and I dealt in the "appeal process" which is when its denied its appealed by the person and her/his doctor. Most insurance companies won't approve to pay for something like that the first time. You'll need documents/evidence that your back is messed up by your large breasts. They'll take pictures, showing how large they are for your frame, that sort of thing. Now this still might not mean they'll pay for it but I'd definitely exhaust all avenues w/ your insurance company before you decide to do it on your own. I know they do payment plans with breast augmentation. I don't see it being any different for a breast reduction. Good luck.
or...you could learn to accept your body for what it is. i had the exact same problem. unless your breasts really are causing you physical problems, why not leave them alone. i don't like my breasts being huge, either. but even a breast reduction is still cosmetic surgery, and i've never really understood the validity of cosmetic surgery except to repair damage done during accidents or such. like many of us large breasted women, it's just your genetics. you know, seamstresses are actually really cheap. if you don't know how to alter our clothes yourself, you can have it done very cheaply. however, all that being said, should you decide that it is important enough to your peace of mind and emotional well being, i would talk to a doctor, FEMALE doctor. they tend to be more understanding about breast reduction. my aunt had it done twice, the first time they grew back. bizarre. she had to find a female doctor to listen to her. she will likely be able to direct you to a specialist.
Hope you don't think I'm creepy, but when I noticed your picture in another post, I noticed them and thought they were nice. That said, I don't think you should do it for aesthetic reasons, because they look great. But if you have real discomfort, then it might be something to consider. I have the same problem with finding clothes, because my waist corresponds to a size 0 and my chest is around a 6. I have to get everything altered, and it's a pain.
i feel your pain. i somehow crept up to a D cup during grade 9 and i would be much happier with a B or C. they just get in the way all the time, especially during horsebackriding lol. and since im tall and have a large frame, they just make me feel bigger. and btw, i weigh 165 now but a year ago, i was down to 145 and looked rather skinny but didnt lose any boob fat at all, so im guessing thats rather common. as annoying as they are, ive come to terms with them and even though i get jelous of girls with small breasts, i love mine too. i find that most bras are designed to make your boobs look bigger, no matter how big they already are lol. ive taken to wearing sports bras and bikini tops instead of bras because they give a more natural and flatter look and are ten times more comfortable. breasts themselves dont usually contribute to back pain, its when you try to support all of their weight on your shoulders with a bra. anyway, try all other options before you go with a reduction.
Perhaps find a better fitting bra? I have heard that many women don't know what the proper size for them actually is, so they keep getting the wrong sizes, which makes the whole situation worse. Have you had a bra-fitting recently? Perhaps you should consider having one, and you will get one that properly fits. I heard of one woman who thought she was like DD or something and it turned out she was an F- getting the right bra eliminated many of her problems w/ fit and such. Also, I believe the band, not the straps, is where most of the support is supposed to come from, so if you are depending on the straps, your bra probably doesn't fit correctly. Peace and love
nah my bra is the right size i've been measured =] plus on top of everything my left brest is so much bigger than my right that it like never fits good into any bra its always popping out and saying hello to everyone but the right side fits perfect
Aren't you supposed to buy bras that fit the largest breast? I guess that was what I've always done, as my left breast is a cup size larger than the other one. At least, that's what I've done since I got a bikini top that my left breast kept popping out of at my fiance's brother-in-law's house- kind of awkward! Peace and love
i'm still losing weight so my other one is starting to even out a bit but, don't even get me started on bathing suits haha i hate shopping for one, i cant ever find any that give me good support but still look good
How much more weight are you planning on losing? Even a few more pounds could cause a reduction in breast size. It's strange the way the body loses weight (quite often not evenly). I think it could be worthwhile to spend a little more time and money finding better fitting clothes (or a tailor, like KC suggested) than spending the time and money on breast reduction surgery. You say you can't find bras in your size that aren't hideous--have you tried any specialty lingerie shops? I know for a fact that they now make pretty bras in large sizes. Even big national budget brands (Playtex I think) have caught on to the trend. You could also try a minimizer bra. For what it's worth, I think you're beautiful and your chest doesn't make you look heavy or seem out of proportion at all to the rest of you.
I finally found a bra that fit (after forking over $50 at a specialty shop) at Target. Gillian OMalley. 38DD. Now, I totally get being tired of your breasts. I'm almost 40, and damn it, if I want to get a reduction, I'm going to. I'm actually looking into dual mastectomy as bc preventative. Granted, I'm getting back to goal weight/ baseline weight FIRST.
I shouldn't be here, I know. I'm a guy. But you're going to make me cry! :^) I know that large breasts can sometimes cause pain in the trapezius muscle, up between the shoulder blades. And why in the hell do I know this?! I used to work at a healthclub and there was a lady who came in with this problem, and I directed her to a machine that works this muscle, which helped her. I hope you consider all your options. They are your breasts, of course. (You don't want to see a grown man cry, do you?!)
No, sweetheart. You're so beautiful! Lucky fiance' and lucky jack-o-lantern. Presumably not one and the same. :^)
For back problems, do deadlifts. Seriously, they work. As for your large breasts, if you have a medium to high body-fat percentage you will be able to slim them down a bit.
I was a 38D by 8th grade. I was 118 pounds (sob! I miss that size). I hated my boobs and did all I could to cover them. Why? Because guys would stare at my tits and only ask me out in hopes of playing with them. One guy even said "with tits like that you have to be good in bed!" Um, what does tit size have to do with ability? Oh wait, it must be "guy" logic "my dick is bigger than his so I must f*ck better." (Not all guys, just the idiots) So, I do understand. Anyway, I used to work out and I noticed when I concentrated on my upper body my boobs started getting smaller. So, maybe try working out the top half more than the bottom. Oh, after I had my daughter I shrunk to a 38C....weird, but I did. I also weigh more now. Go figure. No insurance will cover reduction surgery unless you have well documented back problems that inlcude things like having to wear a back brace or disc degeneration. It is considered "cosmetic" otherwise.
On that note, maybe I should have added that you might want to check out that neck machine in healthclubs, if they still have those. I actually get trapezius pain big time too. Mainly from stress in my case, and the fact that I negotiate through city traffic all day in my job. I ought to check out one of those things for myself. Would probably feel pretty damned good.

I don't think it's bullshit Not every guy is like that (sorry I generalized). Usually the shy ones would look me in the eyes, or anywhere but my chest. I was flattered and throughout high school dated the "shy" guys. It made me more outgoing because I had to approach them. The sick thing is when I caught one of my teachers staring down my top while I was leaned over writing. EW!
