right, im my dream the other night, i cant remember anything of it apart from this bit, but in the dream, the guy that i like a lot at the moment died, but it was how he died and the fact that it was him that confuses me. He died by having his throat slashed, and i have a phobia of people touching my neck and anything throat related, does that mean anything? is it connected that the one i love should die the way i would most hate to?
Hi, you needn't worry too much. Dreams are symbolic and death in dreams is very rarely talking about physical death. I think this dream is possibly looking at a couple of things - one is that sometimes we dream about losing someone we love so we can experience the emotions without having to "go there" in our waking life. Death in dreams is also symbolic of some part of us which has to die so that we can expand in a new direction - for instance, the baby in us has to "die" as we move into childhood, then the "child" has to die as we move into adulthood - not the whole child of course but for instance when we are very young we don't make many decisions, we allow the adults to do that. At some point though we have to stop behaving like that (let an aspect of our personality "die") so we can develop as adults. This is a very common theme in death dreams so don't worry about taking it too literally. The throat is also about communication and talking, so is there something you don't feel able to speak about - particularly to do with relationships (as the fact that the guy in the dream is someone you like a lot suggests the dream is about your emotional/sexual life and personal relationships). In fact having the throat cut like that suggests that it isn't just that you don't feel able to speak but that you have been well and truly silenced! If you believe in reincarnation and past lives, the phobia about your neck can be because you died traumatically in a past life by having your throat cut. that was very helpful thank you. no i didnt think it was a premonition that he was going to have his throat cut in front of me i dont really believe premonitions yeah people have said to me before that ive had my throat cut or been hung in a past life maybe im not expressing myself enough to him enough then if thats lacking comunication, and the death well maybe a result of not communicating? a death of any chance at all maybe? i dont know, what you've said has made a lot of sense though, i wil consider this further thanks for your advice
Absoluterly not. I would think that cutting one's throat means that they are silenced, that you won't allow anyone to brook what you say, that you won't take any guff from anyone. In short you could give someone "the stare" and shut them up in their tracks.
