who else hates when people (or at least certain people) do that?

this morning a friend of my husbands, shows up at the house and i tell him that joey is asleep and he then opens the screen door and walks in and says, he's here to pick up his tv (the tv's been in our house for the past year and a half)and i tell him that it's in our bedroom and joey's asleep and then he just stands there.

I know the guy wanted his tv but common courtesy is to give us a heads up that you're coming and when you're coming.
I asked joey to let his friend know that i didn't appreciate his rude manners.
I could see someone dropping by who was a good friend of ours but he's not by any means someone who we consider a close friend, more of an accquaintance that we have to put up with.

so, you guys hate when people show up unannounced?

I make a point of never calling someone before i show up. If i know they're there, i dont feel the need.

i only welcome unannounced guests when I believed they were dead, and of course, I would not be expecting a dead person to knock on my door.

Ugh, my sex life has nosedived since all of our guests became unannounced. One of the 4 of them lets us know every single day what time he'll be around. That's cool, but the rest of them just pop in whenever and for however long they feel like. Sometimes we have a full house until 2 or 3 AM. I work at 9. Aaack.

Back when I was a teen, the normal thing to do was to just drop by without calling. When you become an adult you learn protocol, and that's to call first. With the abundance of cell phones and the price of gas today, people are learning at a younger age that it's more economical to call first. Besides, it's just proper manners. Anyone that still just drops by unannounced either hasn't grown up yet or is a throwback from a different century.

Im a throwback i guess, but i tend to stay away from couples houses. Interupting sex should be a criminal offence.

Try to run a small business in a small town. I get people showing up at all hours to my home with computers in hand. They dont phone or anything, they just show up!

lol, I like the way you think.

One time I was with one of my drinking buddies, so we get a 6 pack and stop by one of his other friend's apartment. You could tell his friend just wanted to be with his girl and for us to leave, so they started fucking in front of us. I tried dragging my friend out of there to go to a bar but he wouldn't have any of it, he just wanted to sit there and watch TV. I wished I had driven because I would've left him there. Some people are just clueless at times.

Haha, I must be crazy because I once screwed an ex with her sister, brother-in-law, and BOTH parents sleeping IN THE SAME ROOM. What can I say, we were horny and drunk. We got away with it...kind of. In the morning, everyone was talking about it, but oddly enough, nobody cared. Her mom even mad a couple jokes to me about it.

if it's someone i like, i don't mind, but people i like usually call first. none of the people that used to do that have left town, at least for now, so it hasn't come up lately

Ughhh... my sister's boyfriend waltzed into my house as I was lounging in my underwear once.

Also, my brother came home unexpectedly with a buddy from work when I was half-dressed. But it happens all the time. I grew up in a small town, and people don't knock.

It does suck doesn't it? Just seems like anymore, no one has any common sense or decency. It's asking too much for someone to be considerate of someone else's feelings every once in awhile.

my friends usually call when theyre a block or two away from my house lol. but it works, because theyre usually in the neighbourhood doing errands (i live near a main strip of road) and think that they should hang out with me, but check to see if im home and free first. its a very nice arrangement. then again we all tend to have really weird schedules cuz most of us are still in school and we all have jobs or a gagillion school assignments so folk are often busy at peculiar times
