    Hello dear all,

Costa Rica seems to be a paradise !
Does someone know or could recommend alternative places like communities, ecovillages, meeting points for "Rainbow" or open minded people, etc..

    Thanks in advance.

    With love,

Costa Rica is Paradise! There are all kinds of cool places there.

As for the Rainbow stuff...I do not have a clue.

Post in the Rainbow forums for that info.

If you want to go there to make a difference, I can direct you to places.

Costa Rica, in general, is an incredibly eco-friendly and gay-friendly place. The whole country is a meeting place for Rainbow people. I saw a ton of gay couples while I was there. And it's so wonderful, too...I'm jealous that you get to go.

I don't have any ideas about places that specifically cater to gay folks, though...sorry! But really, anyplace will probably be fine for you.

Thanks a lot to both of you.

There is a list of communities on the Intentional Communities website and I've got some interesting contacts through two Yahoo Groups.
Well... I can say i'm ready to go.

    Hasta pronto

Costa Rica was probably my favorite Latin American country so far! Beautiful, so much to do and see, it's all so green, the beaches are amazing, and yes, I did see loads of gay and lesbian couples while I was there. Basically any beach town you go to there is going to be packed with hippies, too, so you know there's a good vibe! I know there are for sure some ecological farms you can volunteer on (though the only one I can think of specifically is Rancho Mastatal and go to the chocolate farm if you can!). It's good times for sure!

My two suggestions are Puerto Viejo, south of Limon -- or if you have a bit more time, head over to Montezuma at the southernmost point of the Guanacaste peninsula.
