haven't you heard about when he tried to censor museums from showing art he deemed "offensive" such as Chris Ofili's "Virgin mary" or the piece "Piss Christ" by Andres Serrano? Conservative to me. (I did my senior project in high school about controversial art and learned he's quite the art hater) http://www.your3dsource.com/controversial-artwork.html
I found the animal dung virgin mary to be offensive, But respect the rights of private citizens to display what art they like. The controversy may have been that the portrait was shown in a publicly funded gallery. Politicians should have bigger fish to fry than public art controversies though.
The narrative from The Left is that in rejecting Rudy, republicans are rejecting his stance on issues such as gun control, reproductive freedoms, and rights for same sex partners to benefits. When Rudy was the frontronner he was viewed as a freak for dressing in drag at those cultural events, now that he has gone down it is seen as a mark of his tolerance. .
The painting by Chris Ofili was influenced by a trip he made to Africa where its common to use elephant dung as a medium; its not seen as "gross" like how many immature americans see it. If you look at the painting its also influenced by cave paintings; what he was trying to do was take a largly western religious character and depict them in a different way as seen by other cultures.
christian fundie? yes. conservative? i think that's up for debate, he seems more like a progessive fundie(i know seems oxymoronic doesn't it) than conservative, but that's mostly on the fiscal side, if you're talking social and foreign policy, then yeah right-wing all the way.
Now I know why pepik says you read from 'conspiracy theory' websites? Why? Everrrrybody knows that Guiliani wasn;t a prototypical conservative from the Republican party, but he was economically conservative, and he was going to push the so called (quite loosely) "New world order" a.k.a. american union, etc... So wtf are you talking about rat?
