Okay so what's the deal with valium? what's the best use for it? I sound like a newbie but probably cus I am on this valium stuff. Too lazy to search google and forums so i rather get a quick answer on here. Thanks ya'll. o yeah, and why would someone use trazadone for recreational purposes? =)
My brother is on Trazadone and I have no idea why someone would use it recreationally. I can't believe people use Xanax recreationally either, unless they're desperate or just have a completely different reaction to it than I have, but they just make me crash at like POINT.10 mg
valium isnt an opiate, its a benzodiazapine. Im not sure what the "deal" is, but I take ten mgs to get high, and I quite like it actually. I suspect since its an anti anxiety med, the people who enjoy it most are people with anxiety. But, then I have a really well adjusted friend who likes em as much as I do, so who knows? My advice is dont mix them with other stuff until youre used to the high, and never mix it with psychedelics, Ive read some horror stories. but then again, some people like that combo, so dont listen to me. Go to erowid if you need info.
I take 10mg Percocet on a regular basis and my doctor also prescribes me 10mg Valium for anxiety. The Valium makes me so tired that I really only use it as a sleep aid. I really like it for that--knocks me right out and I have a good night's sleep. Don't usually take it if I have to wake up early though. I've never had a problem combining it with opiates but, then again, I don't use it excessively. As for a high, Valium doesn't have any euphoric effects--for me anyhow. Might make me feel a little "out of it" initially but that's about it.
Thanks for answering me. Good info and it sure is taking my attention somewhere else now. haha. I guess I'll just use these when I can't go to sleep or something or would it be good for the comedown of some x since it's a benzo? but then ya'll saying not to mix but would it be cool to use when i want to go to sleep and i'm off the comedown of an x pill?. I thought both of these pills(valium, tradazone) were some opiates type of something but obviously i'm not as knowledgable about these type of things. haha.
Yeah, as NorCaliGreenFiend said, Valium is not an opiate. It's in a class of drugs called benzodiazepines. This includes Xanax, Ativan, Klonopin, among others. They are used to treat anxiety and panic disorders, as well as insomnia. They are Schedule IV controlled substances. They do have the potential for addiction but not as much as opiates. However, if you use them regularly for an extended period of time you shouldn't stop taking them cold turkey. I've read that the withdrawal is very unpleasant, with symptoms including extreme anxiety and insomnia. I've never taken X so I can't offer any information on the interaction of these 2 drugs. But you should probably ask a reliable source before combining them. I know a lot of people take benzos when withdrawing from opiates to reduce anxiety.
true... I am only on 1-2 .5 mg of perscribed xanax a day and the withdrawals when i try to quit are awful. I am currently switching over to valium and titrating off of that as it has a longer half-life and will be easier to cut down.
just to clear it up for the OP: trazadone is neither a benzo nor an opiate. it is an anti-depressant of an older type that isnt used to treat depression any longer due to the advent of newer SSRI's like Prozac and Zoloft. However, back when trazadone WAS being used for depression, they discovered it had one basic side effect: extreme drowsiness. so now it is used for sleep disorders -V
I took 5mg of valium before I got my wisdom teeth removed and I just felt a tiny bit more relaxed. I wouldn't mind trying 10mg though, but I prefer the stuff that gets you "high" instead of "low".
