Well I just got my new 06 mustang last month and was cruisin over to Dickson last week to pick up some GOOD , and of course me being me, as soon as i get it i roll one up so I'm on my way back and then I see a road block:huh:, no exits to get off on, nowhere to turn around, no escape, so i rolled the windows down(middle of january) i pulled up to Officer Vahn, she was pretty cool yet skeptical why i had all my windows down aned just because i have dreads lol, then Officer Williams came over and asked if I had been drinkin, tellin the truth i told him no sir and he proceeded with a breathilizer test, passed easily and he asked me to step out of my car, so i get out (having stuffed 15 grams of some fire under my console, the continue to poorly search my car just opened the glove box, my console, and took a glance under the seat, Officer Williams stood up, appologized for the inconvienence and told me to have a nice day.. nice cop. I was already picturing my probation officer lol
Wait, why was he searching your car in the first place? Did you consent to a search, because if I had a half ounce in the car, I would certainly refuse a search. I'm glad you got away with that, but if it was me, I wouldn't take the risk of having him search lol..
Just because the cop asks you to step out of the car doesn't mean you have to, only if they have probable cause or you consent to a search can they check you or your car. Also without probable cause they need a warrant to check your car, just make sure you learn your rights and use them to your benefit as often as possible. Next time you're asked to step out of the car lock your doors and shut the windows on the way out and if questioned about it say you havn't consented to any searches, without probable cause the cop can't go into your car legally. There are cops out there that will or will try to illegally search you, but at least knowing your rights will keep you from falling for their tricks. Personally I think the first thing an officer should say when they pull you over/come over to talk to you is "Do you know your rights?" if you do not, they should read them to you right then and there before they start screwing with your head and such, but that'd only happen in a perfect world. DON'T BE A VICTIM, KNOW YOUR RIGHTS AND USE THEM WELL!
yes and dont listen to these dumbasses... lets for a second pretend we are all a hardass cop who pulls over a pothead with dreads and ask him to step out of the car and he locks the doors and rolls up the windows.... or when you ask to search he says no... ITS LIKE A LIGHT GOING OFF IN YOUR HEAD!! when you say no all they do is bring in a drug dog or look up your history and do random other things to get permission to search you and then when they do they are gonna search ever square inch of your car and probobly find atleast a seed or stem..... where you will be charged with possession of marijuana... or you can just say sure search and they will do a brief 5 minute search and not find shit as long as its hid semi well...

Anyways with half oz as long as you have a good stash spot might as well let them search that way they dont call in dogs and everything just flys by.
