so, i'll begin by saying that i've started school. its a last chance program for kids with behavior problems, i was just put there to catch up on my credits. but the kids there can be quite funny. case in point, this morning. while we were sitting in the cafeteria before class, this boy who i guess was maybe 14 or 15 pulls out a cigarette and lights up. there were at least 4 teachers standing around, and everyone is just kinda watching him and looking back and forth between each other with stupified expressions. finally the teacher notices and he gets escorted out. then we see the teachers, principal, and resource officer milling around for a little while and acting all official and self important. then we all get a lecture on making good decisions, and told that since the boy was trying to get kicked out, he wont be. hes just going to get fined and sent to court for disorderly conduct, because he didnt put out the cigarette when he was told. then we get a spiel on the absolute power and authority the principal holds over us, and how she takes particular satisfaction in recommending that kids be sent to juvie. because, apparently, she feels that people who break rules have a mental disorder and need psychiatric help. she feels that she is a sort of savior for delinquents, saving them from themselves by taking every possible opportunity to put them into the system. she has told us many times that we will also be charged and taken to court for things like cussing...even replacement cuss words like "crap." so needless to say, the day began on an interesting note. people can be so funny sometimes...especially when they aren't trying to be.
heh, ive often thought about doing that. I go to a behavioral school too, always crazy shit going down.
I was suspended three times in school, the administration was whacked. The onyl good thing: Now im completely bilingual and hoping to become trilingual.
I read your post with interest. I think you might be accused of having a sense of humor. Disciplinarians, moral teachers, and bureaucrats absolutely HATE people like you.
ahahaha i feel ya i went to one of those schools too. spent the whole time in a drug induced haze and i half assed it to the max. yet i still passed, it was awesome.
lol, yea theres even signs everywhere that say: how to pass- 1. come to school 2. pay attention 3. do the work obviously learning is not a goal, nor an expectation. ah, gotta love the public education system.
Thats the same motto as my school. My school does produce 70% of the local tradesman, 70% of future welfare cases aswell.
my sense of humor is very far ranging...i can find the most uninteresting thing uproariously funny if the situation is right.
Thank sweet sweet Jesus that I never have to go through the American school system. I'm minoring in secondary education right now... and you can't believe what a load of utter bullshit my classes are. They teach the teachers here absolutely nothing about teaching... all they do is throw a bunch of one-liners and tacky strategies at ya.
I went from acedemic to shit school just by enrolling... even though the school has a waiting list. If they say no, take a piss on their floor and im sure they'll enroll you.
well, this sounds like the reject public school - majority of kids have probably been kicked out of the 'normal' public schools and this is the last place they can put them - thats what it sounds like to me
I went to a highschool with about 2500 students, 60 percent being black. it was chaos most of the time, but it was pure entertainment for me. At least 3 fights a day. one being in the cafeteria. I miss those days somtimes.
Seems a bit absurd, don't you think? If a kid doesn't want to be in school, and his parents aren't making him go, then he should be allowed to roam the street. OR they could be like Ontario and allow for AFRO-CENTRIC SCHOOLS.
