What you need to do is find a veterinary college to attend. Many will offer animal behavior courses you can take which is the first step to learning to work in rehabilitation. You don't have to actually pursue a veterinary degree if that isn't what you want to do but many of the classes offered for that are essential in this line of work.

What you need to do until and during these courses is find a wildlife rehabilitation or refuge near you and volunteer to work there as much as you can. You'll probably start out cleaning cages and that kind of thing for a while, but if you stick with them long enough they will probably work you in to actually working with the animals, and you can learn so much working there even if you never handle the animals yourself, it's an awesome first step. They will teach you what each species needs and how to handle them, they will teach you how to care for the animal without taming them so they can be put back into the wild, etc.

Plus, it's a good way to find out if animal rehabilitation is really the path for you. There's a lot involved that make it something a lot of people simply can not handle.
