What is the Crochet Method

is it really making dreads or is it just hair that has been woven with a crochet hook

I just use a hook to weave in the loose hairs, well my wife does anyway

i know its possible (extremely time consuming) to make "dreads" from scratch using a crotchet hook. like backcombing it doesnt make dreads at firts it just makes woven strands of hair your right. over time tho it will knot up into dreads.

most people here i beleive just use a crotchet hook or felting needle to tidy up lose ends and frizz

You can use a crocheting hook when making dreads. But it's best to first backcomb or/and twist and rip and use the crocheting hook for pulling the loose hairs in.
