When you have a plain ol' bad freakin day....what do you do to try and level it out? Is there something that breaths life back into your day, allways seems to lift the stress off of your shoulders, clear your head etc.?
I used to smoke weed. It was so effective in de-stressing me that I began to rely a bit too heavily on it instead of practicing and honing coping skills. If you can prevent it from becoming a crutch, a couple bong hits might take the edge off the stress. These days I try to find a quiet spot and meditate if things start getting a bit much. Try to achieve some level of mental separation from the issue. Nothing that happens around you is stressful until you react to it in that manner. In almost every case, my getting stressed out has zero chance to mitigate a circumstance while at the same time puts me in a state where I'm likely to make matters worse by impulsively saying or doing something.
aw I hope everything is alright.. Being in the company of good friends, having a really good meal, laughing, reading a book I want to dig into, treating yourself to something special.
going snowboarding seemed to cheer me up, even though i got hurt a bit. just being around with friends doing fun stuff like reading magizines, going to concerts, sleeping, taking a walk outside with whoever. when i have a bad day i now try not to think about what bad thing or things happend and focus on something you like or think about something youre doing soon thats fun.
i usually smoke a big fat joint and then purge myself on something tasty... That will do the trick most of the time. If not that then i like to play on the guitar a little, it just depends
i like to go to the local state park...take lots of pictures and meditate on them...i meditate on the river flowing (no matter what happens, the water keeps flowing) and also meditate on the surroundings....
I try to do that everyday so it wouldn't have much affect I have a lot of ways to deal with stress, and they work pretty well. I live a fairly stress free life, but a lot of shit rolled on me in one day. Just wanted to see what you guys do yourselves. List: Smoke me 'erb, spend time with family/good friends, play guitar, listen to music, watch music, write, meditate, etc. Good Raggae music usually does the trick on its own.
when im feeling completely shitty and horrible, i usually say fuck the world, go home listen to some music for about an hour, play some videogames and then go over exactly how my day got shitty.
Fuck my girlfriend. Play with my dog. Drink some beers and smoke a cigar. Play some hockey. Work out. Go for a run. Read.
I used to help people for a living, some days I helped people who were expecting me to help them... others were generally grateful I took them out of a dangerous situation. That feeling never got old, but sometimes... occasionally, we would get there too late or there was just nothing we could do to help the people... and that made for a bad day. Helping somebody that really needed you is the only thing that really got rid of that emotion. If you have the ability to put your hands on all that love... your bad days are like a wet dream to most people.
Hang out and talk to friends-about anything but my bad day-just random things. Teh bad day loses its grip and falls away. Or, more scientifically, the good brain chemicals get turned on.
