I made a big gumbo today and invited some of my neighbors over to eat. Feeding people good food is like one of my biggest passions in life. I always feed my next door neighbor because he is a disabled vietnam vet and he is really poor,, but today I invited two other families over since I had so much and they loved it. Do you ever feed your friends or family ?? Nothing satisfies me more !
I haven't done since I've lived in Thailand as I don't have a kitchen. But I do love to cook. Since I was 16 and my dad left, I took over cooking the family sunday roast, for anything from 7 to about 20 people. I didn't live at home but | was always there on Sundays. I got more and more into cooking and living in Italy really broadened my skills. There is probably nothing more satisfying than watching people enjoying the food you've prepared, sharing drinks and laughter. I really need to get a place with a kitchen.
Do you vary the temperature of your roast while you cook it? I'm a meat cooking pro!,, ,when it comes to sauces & gravies... I rock the planet! I can bake cakes & pies if I have a recipe to follow, but I am not much of a baker. Don't ask me to bake anything from scratch.,,,
i've done prep and back up in resteraunts, but mostly i just cook for my wife and i, or whoever happens to be over, or occasionally some modest size event or potluck. mostly for potlucks i make pasta or potatoe salads. i like macaroni and tuna salad, with tomatoes and dill in it too. i make a million zillion nameless soups and stews, with a little fresh lemon squeezins in each one. i've also been know to cook for non-human people too. =^^= .../\...
i enjoy cooking for people, but last thanksgiving we had like 20 people in our little house and it was a bit overwhelming. i prefer smaller affairs than that, especially if the folks are appreciative. if i cook for me, my bf and our roommate i rarely get comments or praise or any feedback at all unless i prod my bf into saying something. generally tehres the inhalation of food and then fleeing by both teh bf and the roommie, which kinda sucks
Love too. my sister and I were always arguing about who would cook when we were kids, since we both liked it. I was better at it though.
I actually am a really, really good cook.. it runs in the family I guess. I don't cook often but when I do, it's for loved ones, always. And they love it
i love cooking. i cook everyday. i've offered to cook for my roomies.. one even said she'd buy the food. just hasn't happened yet.. maybe she'll read this and want me to make her some tofu pot pie!
