Because that's all it is: marketing. You need to understand the 'scene' is very different in Israel than to how it is in the rest of the world... You have people like IM and Skazi etc appearing in Pepsi commercials and basically whoring themselves out = antithesis of what trance is about. There are still some very good underground crews doing 'proper' parties and some amazing producers in Israel but all the commercial trance coming out of there is labelling itself as psy when it's nothing of the sort. It's cocaine, xtc music not lsd, mushroom music ;) and there's big $$$$ involved with all that...
    Example:

    Trance (proper british illegal stylee)

    Not Trance (IM)

I'll let the jury make their own minds up...

Aaaaaaaaaannnnyway the IM thing has been done to death on every psytrance forum evargghhh and it's not worth arguing about any more. They make cheesy music videos, dress up like clowns and sell fizzy drinks to teenage 'arsim'. They may be talented and wrote some good tracks in the past but they are no longer psytrance by any stretch of the imagination...

Back on to the topic of psychedelic trance....

Great release this year is Sounds Cool by Sattel Battle on Gi'wa Prods - Young israeli producer, sounds almost finnish in style and goes all over the place but has some fresh ideas and isn't just poppadom poppadom poppadom all the way through...

Also liking the new Rastaliens release on Pharpsyde Records, the new Logic Bomb on Solstice and the new Eat Static also on Solstice (absolute blinder)...

"It’s not enough just to elevate your own frequency and the frequency of the people around you - you need to do it in tune with the earth. And if you do that, then it gets really interesting. So I'm hoping for an evolution in the trance culture, that we will move towards large solar sound systems and explicitly bringing in these consciousness keys into the music and you are seeing it in the visuals and the backdrops. Everyone is wearing sacred symbols, everyone is tuning into sacred geometry and it’s happening! So, I think there is an enormous potential and it’s just one step away from something, which is really transformative. And not just for people who are involved - for the planet!"

Yeah! I seen him here in Ireland at Life Festival. He blew my mind. I couldn't believe the shit that he was pumping! WOW. He did about a 10min warped, messed up, head fuck of a remix of the South Park theme. Everyone was in stitches laughing at how good and genius it was. The acid helped too.

Also at Life Festival (and AfterLife, the smaller sister festival), I seen Talamasca, John Phantasm lots more.

@Eshu: Thanks for posting the list of Dark Psy artists.

I usually prefer listening to these artists:
Darker stuff: Kindzadza, oCeLoT, C-P-C, Para Halu, Parasense/Deja Vu Project
Fullon/melodic/morning music: Koxbox, Shift, Pitch Hikers, Tea Chairz
Chill: Carbon Based Lifeforms (hmm, I don't know many psychill music, do you know any bands that similar to CBL?)

I also listen to oldskool goa, but I'm not really into progressive psy, but I don't have a problem with it. :)

wow tomorrow night I will be dancing with blisargon demogorgon.
better sleep now and save my energy for tomorrow :)

though I'm so totally in love with my sweeeet and precious goa and long times of exposure to dark psy tends to bore into my soul and tire me, still it shall be interesting; I've heard some pretty good (in a pretty dark way of "good", hahah) things about his music.

    mmm, we'll see... :)
