    Hi all.

I've been growing my hair for around a year, nearly.

Is there anybody in the UK, preferably in the midlands area who can backcomb my dreads in for me?

I'm fed up of feeling like a scarecrow, I'm not used to hair like this whilst growing it out.

My hair is currently between 5 inches (back) and 6 1/2 inches (on top).
I'm looking at Saturday 8th, or Sunday 9th March so my hair will be 1/2 inch, maybe 3/4 inch longer. Just to give you an idea. I want to start them short as I understand they lock a bit quicker, and by the time they are longer, they will already look tighter. I just think its better to start them now.

I have the rest of that week off work, so that is why I'm being a little bit date specific, it gives them a chance to settle a bit and not stick up so much. Also, it is a couple of months before the festivals, so it gives them time to lock up for them too.

Click here and here and also here to see what my hair is like now, today.

    Any offers greatly appreciated,

Also, I certainly don't expect it for free, I'll pay, or buy a little of what you fancy, or whatever.

    Thank you in advance.

I live in Birmingham, and me and my boyfriend dreaded my hair. I might possibly be able to help you, I'll PM you with my contact details.

Thank you, so do I. You've boosted my confidence as a few people have said "Dreads wont suit you". But I'm not listening to them anyway. Let them go forth and conform!!

Apart from one or two isolated disaster cases, I don't think I've ever seen anybody who hasn't suited dreads.

I want to avoid salon dreads as I think, despite their inside knowledge of hair, I actually know more about dreadlock care and maintainence than them just from obsessive reading on here for the last six months.

Proper, natural dreads would 'suit' anyone imo

Just because you backcomb it doesn't mean they are not proper dreads

Go for it and good luck

Nah, I wasn't sayin that... I just mean I've seen friends get dreads with wax and then decide it doesn't suit them, when if they did them without they'd be more 'natural' and would look great on them.
