starting playing the piano/keyboard

Hey guys can anybody give me some pointers. Where on earth do I start when learning the piano? Ive got a keyboard here and can play the guitar so understand a little theory. Do I just start learning some chords? Are there any good websites with free lessons? Any easy song suggestions?

 

My first instrument is guitar and ive started playing piano by learning from guitar tabs lol.

Its a program that teaches you how to play guitar through accurate tabs, but it is also very useful for playing piano. Ive learned heaps of songs on it and much faster than if I got professional lessons.

Once you have downloaded guitarpro then you can download accurate tabs from http://www.ultimate-guitar.com
Just search a song and dowload the guitar pro version.

As for some suggestions. I fist started learning piano by learning Dimmu Borgir songs like 'det nye riket and 'alt lys er svunnet hen' They are a metal band but have some awsome and not too complicated piano parts.

guitar pro is brilliant, it can teach you all the chords and scales, and you can even compose you own music on it.
