Does anybody here know about Guilford College in Greensboro, NC? Thats where im attended school this August. Ive been to the orientations and stuff and met a lot of cool people that will be going and already are there. I just wanted to know if anybody knew anybody that went there or something and could tell me what things are like.

    Hey hows it going?

I'll also be attending Guilford College this fall! I grew up here in Greensboro, so I can probably offer some anecdotes on the school. The Princeton review rates in the top 20 schools for weed, as well as "Tree-Hugging Birckenstock wearing hippies". It is also rated in the top 20 most liberal schools in the nation. I'm sure you know all about the Quaker Heritage, thats one cool part about it. Socially, Guilford is strange. Greensboro is a shitty town, theres not much to do. However, Ziggy's in Winston-Salem is a great music venue, and lots of good artists come through. Cat's Cradle in Chapel Hill is also a good one. Demographically, Guilford has the Jocks, the Hippies, and the adults. Almost 900 of the 2200 students enrolled are adult students. There are also many atheletes. But the Majority of the student body seems to progressive and open minded. There are like 300 acres of woods on campus, so people enjoy hiking and jogging, and smoking in the woods. There are a few music festivals close by every year, so usually theres something to look forward to.

Do you already have your rooming assignment? And did you attend the "Spring Into Guilford" orientation? Also, are you attending any of the Avanti programs? We'll have to get in touch with each other when the fall comes.

To be honest, I know very little about Guilford College, but the weird thing is my cousin goes there, and he likes it a lot (Also, when I went to see Ani DiFranco in March when she came to Tokyo, I remember meeting someone who attended Guilford, and saw Ani perform years ago at Guilford).
