Ok, well I'm having trouble finding interesting things to draw. I did fine in art classes where the teacher gave me assignments. But now I'm out of art, and I don't want to lose interest (again). Any suggestions?
Remember the assignments you were given in art school? Well repeat them, but this time interperet them in a way that expresses yourself. Sort of use them as a point of departure and be as adventurous as you like. Hope this helps.
i think it's difficult to find subject matter if you don't know what you enjoy drawing. doodle, experiment, check out an art book for kids at the library and do the exercises in them, draw murals, draw on 2" by 2" squares. after a while you'll see a pattern in your subject matter. expand on your concepts. never rule any idea out. after a while, you won't even have to stare at a blank page because your mind is so abuzz with ideas. trust your instincts. calla.
If you look too hard you will never find it.....wait a while, inspiration comes in many forms. Easy to say i know. I actually have photographers block at the moment. Nothing seems to look quite as interesting as it did before! I'm scared stiff that i'm losing my creativity, and have no idea what to do about it!
