SuicideGirls.com is suing Philip Warner (Lithium Picnic Photography) over an alleged breach of contract for shooting TFP photos of one of the site's ex-models, who happens to be his wife, which were used on her membership site apneatic.com. They also claim that he is the owner of the site and are trying to take the money she's made on her site from her. The site is and has always been her's in every way possible.

His SG contract allowed him to shoot for single girl personality based sites like her's, but for some reason SG suddenly decided that her site was a competitor to their empire of books, magazines, DVDs, radio shows, and television and demanded $100,000 in damages from him. The lawsuit has gone on for almost all of this year, SG has made no attempts to resolve or mediate and are pushing this to a very expensive trial.

In addition to the problems facing Philip and Apnea many models have accidentally found themselves on sleezy porn sites and seen their own faces staring back at them. The owners of SuicideGirls have been selling photographs taken for their site and been selling to numerous websites across the internet.

There is also a large problem with freedom of speech. Not only does any mention of Lithium Picnic get your account deleted or your photographs archived, but many members and models have found themselves locked out only for asking questions about the "rumors" with no other response or explanation.

Signing a contract with SuicideGirls signs away your life for at least 2 years - including your entire likeness and personality. It also means that suicidegirls is the only alt nude site you can work with even though some models only make about 1000 a YEAR modeling for the site. No photographers are willing to work with suicidegirls anymore because they're afraid of ending up in a life shattering law suit.

I honestly don't see the big deal with this.

Suicide Girls, as a corporation, is allowed to have anything legal that it wants in its contract... the girls who sign it are responsible for what they sign.

Hell, even an extra 1000$ a year just for posing naked doesn't sound bad. Wish I had boobies.

Seems that someone knows a lot about this from the inside. In the end it's only dull green pieces of paper. Perhaps these young women should consider a career change.
