I have noticed a boredom around some sober people…work, home, work, home with not a lot of joy in between. Life is a boring meaningless routine it seems for so many. It would be for me to except that I smoke a joint before work and all night after work with regular lsd trips in-between. Enough so that I’m on perma bake—every moment even when I’m not high or tripping is still charged up –most days I feel like harry potter walking through the world….getting caught up in the signs and synchronicities…for me the world and life is a magical space to explore. I thank drugs for that. I would not be the woman I am today if it were not for marijuana, shrooms, lsd and the like. I can honestly say that drugs have saved my life…..i remember being “straight edge” I did it for a while—I only drank alcohol but that does piss bugger all to infuse magic in your life so it doesn’t count for shit. Life was terrible for me….i was suicidal. I don’t think I could bear life without drugs….not like I’m so addicted I’d die without them….more like, without drugs I wouldn’t want to be here. No tripping, no talking to trees or aliens????? I couldn’t bear it! no mystical waves of connectedness to the divine, the relaxed prophesies you get on weed…..nope—don’t want to live without it! am I self medicating? Does it matter? Does a cultivation of joy in life through drugs make it less authentic? What do you think? I have a client right now who is VERY suicidal. She’s in her fifties and has had a very painful life. She’s escaped all her troubles and is now safe and settled but bored bored bored and very very suicidal…..strange because during adversity she never once got that low (escaping an abusive husband was something to live for) there was hope. Now she’s on her own, in her own condo but works 44 hrs a week to keep it and has no life, no growth. I wish I could just hand her a joint….working full time is so much more tolerable when you are baked…or at least have a fatty to come home to! it would solve so many problems for her….i told her its what saves my life….but a 55 year old woman who’s never been exposed to marijuana except for negative propaganda? Hard barrier to break. I have another client who is a brilliant artist but has this ceiling that he’s hit that he just can’t get past…he’d like to take his meditation and creative process that much deeper…closer the the Om……what lsd could do for him!!!!! Again, I’ve come straight out & told him lsd is my big energy diving board into the collective. Do you think that’s a bad thing. I don’t recommend it to them…I just share what works for me personally—and I’m very careful as to which clients I share this info with. I gotta feel the inner tripper in them. I just wish people knew this stuff existed HONESTLY…..what it could really do for their every day quality of life experience. we need timothy leary to appoint his successor. Someone –no--a whole lot of people need to pick up where he left off.
all you can do is say what you know but I do agree we need a new Leary I do think its coming back though MAPS is gonna start LSD research again which should turn out some interesting things
i think that people have to come on there own. when your friend brought over his painting for you as a gift we all started talking about LSD and he seemed interested yet very hesitant. i made sure that i made it very clear that as long as he was hesitant he shouldn't try it. he seems like the kind of guy who would love it and we sure did have a lot of good things to say about it but i was a little worried that he would take our word for it, take it and not like it. i guess this comes from a few times in my life where i have influenced people in a way that had them taking acid only to have them freak out and look at me like i was a liar or something. now i make absolutely sure that they are doing it for themselves and that they are sure about wanting to try it. i don't want people taking my word for it - i want them to be sure of themselves so that i don't get the third and fourth degree. just wait till i put the band together, i am sure that will have a powerful effect. there will soon be a new wave of psychedelic use in toronto. i am not saying that we can't influence people in the mean time, all i am saying is that not everyone is ready for LSD and talking someone into trying it could turn out to be a big mistake. they have to want to explore this wonderful drug on their own. we can be an influence but we must be careful that people are not taking our word for it even though they have some doubt. i say this to you mara-aum because i know that people have been known to follow you blindly - i think you must make it very clear that this is a big decision that they have to be sure about. tell them all the wonders but make sure that they understand that if they are hesitant or afraid in any way that they are not ready. they should do enough research until they are certain that LSD is right for them. same goes for weed but weed is not so dangerous. not to say that LSD is dangerous but used in a bad set and setting it could be.
of course they are researching it like a medication for health issues. i would love to see some research being done in regards to safe use with people who have no real problems to address. why don't they research the benefits of LSD use when it comes to normal healthy people? what is the benefit to LSD use when it comes to spirituality (freedom to practice spiritual beliefs), and/or human self betterment. every time i use LSD i learn something about myself and life in a way that makes me a better person. it is a learning and self advancement tool - this kind of research would be more valuable then the LSD treatment of cluster headaches.
Hey this seems to be a topic which keeps floating back to my thoughts. I really think it is a good idea for some people who otherwise would not choose to expose themselves to lsd or pscy to hear about why they can help. That is probably the main reason I love this forum. Of course the underlying cause for such a great collection of thoughts is the people who make up this cyber community. People who are interested can always look to this forum to hear why tripping is crutial for a lot of people. MARA - It is superb to hear that you are actually meeting with people in such a rut to try to help them. Have you ever had a client whom you influenced to trip for the first time?
yup 3xi--on both counts--we haven't found a scene in toronto so we'll just have to create one and i'm soooo up for that! good advice otherwise though (as usual) thanks
i'd be willing to volunteer!! if anyone knows how or where please post info! thanks rygoody--i saw your post later on with that link...i'm gonna check it out!
i shouldn't have said that. i know what i was trying say and blindly is not it. i should have said that people trust your guidance. i guess i am trying to protect you from making the same mistake i made. although it is ultimately their choice, being someone who influenced their decision puts you in a place where you might feel somewhat responsible for someone having a negative experience. as long as you do your part to help them understand why it is important that they do enough research so that they feel comfortable with their choice. i guess what i am also trying to say is that you should be careful who you suggest it to. but i think you already know that don't you.
i think the real trick here is that if you are going to be someone who advocates the use of LSD like some of us do on this forum, you better not be selling it. there are two separate roles to play here. people like me are very vocal and public about positive LSD use while others who make the stuff available must keep a low profile. because of my role in all of this and because of my music i will let others do the dealings. i just use it and speak openly about it.
I started on facebook. i posted the link for Hofmann's Potion: LSD documentary http://video.google.ca/videopl... & Joe Rogan talks about DMT http://video.google.ca/videopl... i could easily convince myself to dedicate my life to promoting a healthy view of psychedelics.
