Hey all, my girlfriend and I want to plan a road trip. Originally we were going to visit our friend doing community work in New Orleans, but the organization she was working with lost funding, so now we're looking for a new destinaton for a visit. I found a community called Acorn in VA and they seem like a really cool place that we could spend a few days helping at. It would be great to learn and get experience farming and hanging out at an organic farm community. Anyone know anything about the place? I'm going to send them an email and touch base and see when would be best to visit. But would love to hear anyones personal experiences.
twin oaks is the mother community and there's more going on there from what i've heard so you'll want to check them both out at least.
