Hey guys, I've been entertaining the idea of expanding my body art by way of a sleeve. As I like to reserve the right of covering up when need be I've been thinking something like a 1/3 sleeve with it ending where a t-shirt normally would (perhaps it would be called a 1/4 sleeve.) I'm currently drawing up a scene involving a sun, a viking-ish boat and a kraken. I'm not sure which style of sun I am leaning towards. I do enjoy the look of a Japanese rising sun though I'm not sure it fits. I'm also leaning towards grey work, however, I find the idea of a colored piece rather invigorating. Any thoughts or suggestions?
I would never get a sleeve for myself. But that's just me, and everyone's different. My suggestion? Have something drawn up, maybe have it sketched onto your arm. If you like it enough to wear it forever, then go for it. The only opinion that matters in this case is yours.
It's very important to find or create or have created a piece you love. It is equally important to find an artist who you like and trust and whose work you've been able to evaluate.
I have 2 full sleeves, same concept on both, and they match. advice for you,,,stay with one concept.Thats just me i dont like sleeves that are pieced together. allso find a artist that does good work and that you wouldnt mind spending alot of time with.( i have over 150 hours in the chair i made shure i liked to talk to him before i hired him.) allso scetch some stuff up or get photos watever it takes to get the idea accross to the artist and he /she will perfect it. good luck and have a great jurney frog
I REALLY like colourful sleeves a lot, it just creates such an aamazing world to fall into, but I guess so does grey work... Good luck though, sounds beautiful!
