Misinformation On This Board

This post isn't LSD specific, but I figured it would get the attention it deserves in this forum.

edit: Just discovered the actual Psychedelics "Forum". This post should go there...oops.

I recently discovered the Hip Forums, and quickly discovered the Psychedelics section. I've been reading through posts, and it amazes me how much misinformation is being thrown around. There are a few good posters that seem knowledgeable, but some people are posting things that are just flat out wrong and potentially dangerous.

I highly recommend that everyone checks out the following websites:

http://erowid.org - This site is ESSENTIAL to anyone messing with psychoactive substances. It is full of helpful, accurate information, and is organized in an easy to browse fashion. Not only that, but there are Experience Reports for just about any drug you can think of.

http://www.lycaeum.org/ - Similar to Erowid. Not as good in my opinion, but they have the right idea.

http://wikipedia.org - A large, comprehensive online encyclopedia.

http://shroomery.org - A very large and very active site/forum that focuses mainly on mushroom cultivation, but also has forums where you can get your drug questions answered by some very knowledgeable people.

http://google.com - Obvious, but a lot of people don't think to go here.


Drug use is perfectly okay in my opinion, as long as it is done responsibly. That means knowing how to use your drugs in a manner that will not cause harm to you or any others.

Mods, it might be a good idea to sticky this.

You'll find the same thing is similiar in every forum ever. The senior members are knowledgeable and some of the others are telling b.s.

it's one of the reasons I post here.
been in tune with these things before Erowid was around.

That's why there is a stickied FAQ but there is always still gonna be some less knowledgeable people who don't bother looking at it.

 

Is it really necessary to break out the sarcasm and negativity....all because I am promoting the safe use of drugs?

I didn't even know there was a Psychedelics forum when I posted this. Thought it was just a grouping of subforums. Didn't see that FAQ.

hey, i think it's fine to use drugs in a manner that will cause harm to yourself, as long as you're aware that's what you're doing.

no one's being negative because you're promoting safety. they're being slightly annoyed because you're a noob and have no idea how many times we have to see threads exactly like this one. i don't think there was any negativity at all.

if you don't like sarcasm, hip forums isn't the place for you . haha.

besides, isn't it understood by most loggin on to the web that what they read is potentially written in ignorance by random people who didn't know better, and that the only way to reach a solid base if information is to collect data from multiple sources on the same subject?

 

Yeah but not everyone is that smart, meet enough people and what you think is normal isn't so with others.
