so i took my kitty eleanor outside for like the 2nd time the other day, first time in the driveway, and when i picked her up to bring back inside i swear to god she meowed put me down! it sounded something like this "me me meow!!!" i swear dude, she has never meowed like that before, it was like she spoke PERFECT to me, very strange and trippy, she has never meowed when i pick her up. i think cats are smarter than we give them credit for!!!
I tried to put my kitty outside so he could get used to the feeling of grass and everything, being born in a shelter and never having experienced it...and the first time a car came by, he clawed up my leg. lol...That told me he wasn't enjoying himself any longer! I wish my cat would meow more often. He does it only when he is in distress, or really really wants me to pick him up and can't climb up my legs. Oh.. btw.. I do think that we can communicate with pets to some degree, or they can communicate with us. We just have to listen to the way that they meow, or look at us.
My cat talks to me all the time. .lol I guess it is just from having him for so long and being in tune to him...but I pretty much understand everything he says. Everytime he hears me open up the fridge he runs over and says "meeeeeeeeooooooow" in a very loud and long pitch. This means "give me milk now bitch!" But for real, I dont feel there is any barrier between me and my animals when it comes to communication. Im very in tune to them.
I think all animals are smarter than me give them credit for. There is a cat next door and he knows we don't like him much (well I've no real issues, but anyway) so he is trying to win us over with little presents, like decapitated birds. It's not really helping his cause.
my cat always brought me presents, sometimes as many as three little headless morsels on the patio in the morning. means they think of you as family and they're bringin home the groceries - a compliment in the cat world. i kept telling her we had plenty of food...
My cat hardly ever meows, but when he gets lonely it sounds just like he says "hello". It's pretty freaky in the middle of the night!
cats are smarter than humans, just physically challenged in comparison. think about it, they lack oposing thumbs and even if they didn't they are still too short to reach doorknobs. at the same time, they have us convinced to not only feed them and clean out their litter boxes, but to love them and pet them. pretty smart, I'd say.....
awesome pic of Pai-me! I don't think all animals are intelligent, but I think cats are among the most. I suspect they have a very deep consciousness, and a highly developed sense of understanding.
lol.Actually, my cat figured out how to open the screen door to let himself in. He stretches his arms up on the screen and digs his claws in and slides it open. Then he just waltzes in.
There was a "national pet I.Q test" on the television a few months ago, i think, not surprisingly, parrots and dogs came out top. I tested my cat and apparantly she was in the same league as the average rabbit/hamster, lol. It wasn't a surprise, either- she's pretty dappy as cats go.
My cat - 'Hendrix' - ran away so I look after the other 2 cats both female - Becki and Pickle - and Pickle has a really nice 'meow' and she's so emotional, to some people it would sound stupid but cats do (obviously) have mental feelings as well with their own personality. Some people only say that their not intelligent because they cant talk, but Im not saying that 'Cats' could run a peaceful democracy, I just think that some people under estimate them. "When the rich wage war, It's the poor who die." - Jean - Paul Sartre.
Cats and dogs have been around humans so much, it would not be surprising if they've picked up on some of our language and expressions. People sometimes think cats are unemotional because their facial muscles can't show as much expression as ours, which is a shame .
