Moby Grape is in the top three amongst the 1960's san francisco bands (in my opinion).
Their first album is fantastically wonderful. They seriously had the sound down... whatever the san francisco sound really is.

I love all the San Fran bands from that time. Dead, Jefferson airplane, Moby Grape, Quicksilver Messenger Service, Janis, and Country Joe and the Fish. Moby is also one of the great ones, but you dont here to much about them.

After hearing about Moby Grape for years I finally heard the song 'Omaha' early this summer and then I picked up a pretty decent compilation cd of theirs (Crosstalk). Amazing. I don't know why didn't check these guys out sooner because I really love the whole San Fran 60's music scene.

Moby Grape was the best San Franciscan band of their time. They are one of the few 60's bay area bands that I like.

I love Moby Grape! They are a really, really good band and I've never understood why they never got successful in the 60's.

Moby Grape was Skip Spence's band right? That sonofabitch made a crazy ass record after he went psychotic.

Yeah, It's some freaky acosutic shit. If you thought madcap laughs was the soundtrack to mental illness, OAR is much worse.

This I've heard. I've heard Spence being compared to Barrett multiple times.

They are, but they're not really alike, except for being acid casulties.

I think Oar is better than Barrett's albums.

Nice. I've been trying to find it for some time now. I suppose I'll just have to end up ordering it online.
