Your question amuses me. While I'm inclined to say that astrology is an excellent tool for helping one understand one's tendencies and potential, I also believe that each of us has the divine gift of Free Will. You *can* choose to not be a complete ass.
Your rising signs shows how other people perceive you. They may see you as management material, a quick thinker, decisive, strong willed, lots of stamina. What is your planet in the highest degree?
Then the next question would be what house is Venus in? The highest degree planet has just as much influence as the Sun and ascendent. (although a case can be made for progressions, that when that planet changes signs it will demarc a major change in life.) In my case the highest degree planet shows my main focus in life (for me it's a matter of relationships).
what do you guys mean when you say planet of the highest degree? are you talking about what planet is in the midheaven?
