In my opinion as a black man, I feel the mainstream media is trying to put black people in a trick bag and limit us. I watch the political news shows on Cnn, MSNBC, FOX, etc. and some of their analysts keep saying, "Hillary has a strong grasp on the black vote over barack because of Bill clinton's popularity in the community" or "Barack is seen as not being black enough by some black people." It's all bull, first off I think some black people wanted to see if barack would be a viable candidate (i.e. winning a white state like IOWA) before they got behind him, they didn't want it to be another Jesse jackson or AL sharpton situation where even though it's progress by having them in the race, they really didn't have a shot to win.

Don't get me wrong bill clinton did some good things for black people but he also did some things that wasn't cool (NAFTA perhaps, where all the jobs went to china), but there is no president in history who got everything right, you can't be a real president if you don't ruffle some feathers. And please stop with the "bill was the first black president" speech that has been trumpeting from some in the black community for years. Second, barack not being black enough is solely used by the media, now I'm not denying that there are black people who feel that way about Barack but those people to me aren't intelligent enough to know what it means to be black or articulate enough to grasp the concept and ethics involved in being black.

A black person to me is someone who loves their culture, race, knows their history, and appreciates what has been sacrificed for us to be at a place and time where we can be successful and succeed in life. I think Barack is all of those things I just listed. He's presidential and seems to have a grasp on the issues. There are some who say , "He hasn't been hit with tough questions" or "He seems to get out of answering questions that could impeach his credibility with becoming president. Every presidential candidate since there first was a presidency squirmed and slithered around tough questions, look at George bush, he does nothing but duck and dodge tough questions. And he became president.

Lastly something that really bothers me is when the political commentators or the channels themselves ask a black person, "Will you vote for barack obama because he's black?" They are putting us in the trick bag again. They act as if that's treason to vote for someone because they are of your race and you can identify with them more than a white presidential candidate. I will vote for barack because he's black. Yes. I want to see a black man in the white house. Is there something wrong with that? Am I supposed to feel bad because I feel that way?

Chris matthews, on his MSNBC show, was the only white commentator that I seen that spoke like that and I agree with him. "What's wrong with black people voting for barack obama? If jewish people for vote for a jewish president and a woman votes for hillary to be president, is that wrong? No. What's wrong with voting for someone in your group? " That's what Chris said and he's right. There's nothing wrong with that.

And the analysts counter that argument by saying, "Don't you wanna vote for someone who shares your political beliefs?" Another tick bag question? Yes, I like a candidate that believes in what I believe in and has my values at heart, but I think with the opportunity to have a black president , I would vote for the black president. Period. I was watching a show and they had Oprah on and asked her a trick bag question, "Are you supporting Barack because he's black?" Now Oprah handled it well and professionally by saying, " No. I'm behind him because I agree with his positions on the issues." But I would have told the interviewer, "Why did you ask that question? " And "Yes, I'm supporting him because he's black. I would love to see a black man in the white house."

I think there will be a black president one day, hopefully this november, and I ask the people of america (where racism still flourishes), What can a white president do that a black president can't? Nothing. A black president can do the exact same things and more. Can a black president (hopefully Barack) do any worse than George bush who is one of the worst presidents in history (probably the worst)? The economy is a mess, jobs are down, troops are still in Iraq( and will probably be there for a while), The education system is putrid, health care is a Major problem, etc.

Can Barack do better than that? Yes. He should be given the chance.

Sorry folks, personally, I don't think any U.S. president alone can pull us out of this shithole we have gotten ourselves to sink in, whether black, white, brown, yellow, green, purple, woman, man or transvestite...

The Mainstream media IS corrupt because it is controlled by the same people who control the money power in the USA and elsewhere-The Banksters! Obama and the other mainstream candidates are all endorsed by the MONEY POWERS.It won't matter if you vote for either of their 2 candidates, the puppet on the Left or the puppet on the Right, because they will continue their facist, corporate, industrial, military complex agenda of enslavement of the masses and continuous warfare.

Stop speaking the truth. Many of the people on these forums will hate you for it.

Just say Democrat = good / Republican = bad, and people will love you. Some people don't like having to take the effort to think too much.

"Whoever has control of your eyes, has control of your mind." - Paraphrasing from Timothy Leary.

What a better way to divide and conquer than to teach hate and ignorance to everyone since childhood. Brainwashed parent teaches faulty information to child, child grows up to eventually have a child of his/her own and shovels in faulty information to this child; and the process continues on.

Self replicating lies, half-truths, ignorance, just like a virus.

This is one of the ways that a small group can control a much larger group of people.

In the words of Roger Daltry: "Meet the new boss, same as the old boss."

The way I see it, Republicans and Democrats, different name, same b.s.

Does he have to provide solutions? Do to the nature of what Pressed Rat explains, is a solution even viable at this point?

Perhaps the only solution is to inform others of the truth in hopes that they can accept it. If that is the case, then it is failing, not because of PressedRat, but because of people like you that deny it.

I think, the situation is too far gone and the forces of change far too strong for any one president, regardless of gender, race or party affiliation to alter the course of history.

Stuff like these, don't get too much attention in mainstream media, for obvious reasons. But if these guys can't even pay their phone bills, one would have to wonder what else they can't do right.

Thank you for the support, Pressed Rat & others. To paraphrase an old saying; if you plan to speak the truth in a room full of people-make sure you have a plan of escape waiting. ;)

Republicans and Democrats, different name, same b.s.

In terms of the full spectrum, true liberals and true conservatives are really more alike than they are different. They're not considered opposites by political scientists, but rather two slightly different implementations of the same form of economic configuration: meritocracy.

But when you look at outcomes, the difference between Republicans and Democrats is extreme. One is a legitimate political party with a mixed history of good and bad; the other is just a gang of fundamentalist xians working to destroy this country due to its large population of "sinners."
