When you feel your testicles, they should be egg shaped and roll smoothly in your hand. If there is a sharp place, that will need a doctor's examination. You mention a "tender lump". Is it on the testicle itself, or above it? Some guys (myself included) developed a varicocele, or a varicose vein in the left testicle, soon after we got sexually active through intercourse or masturbation. It is often hereditary, as it was in my case. Sometimes it has to be removed, or can just be left alone (as in my case).

Just to make sure, see a doctor.

I had something similar when examining my balls (monthly routine for me).
There was pain in the sack that would not go away. I made an effort and went to see my physician. He said that it was nothing to worry about. Man... I'm really glad I made the effort to find out for sure.

Just go see the doctor to make sure, bro. you'll be so happy to clear it up for certain. My bump could have easily been cancer.

Good luck buddy. Btw, don't be embarrassed. If anything, the doc will be impressed that you had the common sense to have it looked at :)
