As it happens Glen, I like several Australian wines. And Californian, German, and several more from my home state of Virginia. Winemaking here is an industry and tradition begun by Thomas Jefferson (who liked his wines French and his women black). I used to drink them with food but my ex-wife left with all the stemware and now all I have are old fashioned glasses. And bourbon neat is NOT redneck. Jack and coke, prolly. Pabst Blue Ribbon from a can or plastic bottle, maybe. And Moonshine, certainly. Illegal and of questionable lineage, it suits the redneck mentality perfectly. "They" make it an hours drive from me, corn mash and the easier brandy or apple jack. And please don't think I have prejudice against rednecks or anyone else, for that matter. Or their drinks. It's just bourbon and two foxy brown chicks (my chocolate labs, Barley and Littleless) have been my sole companions seven days out of fourteen thru a very hurtful time. And beer! But I confess to being a beer snob. Your Fosters just doesn't cut it. I like my beer like I like MY women. Bitter.
