my first time doing dreads!!

I was so excited when someone with long, dry hair came up to me and asked if i would do his dreads

Of course i took him up on his offer...and he ended up going out with my best friend, Fae

so here are some pix

his dreads are about 1.5 weeks old

you put rubber bands in them?

 

yeah...thats how i did mine...i don't put them close to the root though...or atleast not tight on his head....my friend did that and now his dread's roots are all really thin and they are going to fall off. When they get tight i take them off...and i band up the ends...to make them round...and palm roll a lot...
I plan on taking the bands out of my hair in a few months. I'll take his out when they are ready

aww thanks all...his dreads seamed like no time at all...they took about 6-8 hours. mine took 3 days because i have so much hair and i take a smoke break so often. haha. I did all my dreads in the front to take some ease off of my friend who was doing them...so i knew how to do them better for him...it went a lot quicker. It was also a lot easier because i found some all natural essentials oil/vegitable oil waxy stuff that disolves on its own. It was really helpful...i wish i knew where i found it..

 

i should take the rubber bands out after one or 2 weeks
