You all need to move down here, people wave at each other all the time even if thye dont know ya, always wave your thru at stop signs, hold doors open, willing to run over and open the store for ya when they are closed, its like all Mayberry'ish at times.
Don't wory in Macedonia people don't say thanks and never did, but the worst thing is whan I or someone like me(diferent from them) pass thay talk about it and say that I'm not normal, my aunt's naibours asked her why she let me wisit her,I'm not normal so why she does it?... so I got used and I don't mind I think you should too... not that I'm not polite... but I don't mind others beeing rude
you know why, slave? because you probably make the old biddies feel guilty for wanting to take a ride...
I don't care what thay think, that is besausa ther minds are not free so thay can't think in diferrent way... here people are not free at all... I can't change it so I don't care for them, they don't care for me so why should I?
The term masshole was coined in Maine. Highfalutin Bostonians had a proclivity for getting themselves lost in the woods during hunting season, and the locals were forced to organize search parties Invariably they discovered, yep, they’re from Massachusetts! Hotwater
lmfao. I prefer to swing the door open wide and let someone just hold it while they come in... more of a gesture toward equality than I'll sit here while you walk in. Old folks (or anyone really) do get the door treatment, as long as they seem like they need it Don't stop being nice, people do notice whether they say anything or not... a frown today may be a smile tomorrow solely because of you
Being polite is not dead. I am the perfect gentleman in public. I think others get so wrapped up in life and forget that it more effort to be an asshole to others than to be kind.
today, as i was picking up my daughter from school, a lady parked on the street watched traffic for me and signalled me that i could make a safe left turn. it's always a crap shoot coming out of that parking lot. it occurred to me that i was the only person until today that i knew did that. i waved and mouthed "thank you" and she got the BIGGEST SMILE. it was nice. see, kindness hasn't died.
Someone said something that got me thinking. Are you any more or less polite on this forum than you are in real life?
well, i always sneeze in the same spot...no fail. right when i walk out the building and once i get on the main walk area...i sneeze. day or shine or night. so i guess someone is blessing me I GOT DA POWER!
fuck, i hate how rude people are to us worker monkeys. ok, sometimes im a bit short to those in customer service but generally only when they have the attitude of "why teh fuck is someone in my store so that i cant sit and paint my nails, like oh my god" its funny cuz one of my coworkers says he cant stand the fake-nice people (the ones who seem so plastic and fake), and my other coworkers response was "id rather have someone who was fake nice than someone who was genuinely mean" and i prefer saying gesundheit to bless you, but thats from 4 years of high shcool german
totally a supertition left over from the bubonic plague.and midievil era. they thought you were losing a piece of your soul OR that you were about to die of the plague and that sayin "bless you" would save your life...
lol. STILL!!! nah, i'm unerringly kind to my customer service people UNTIL they're outright mean. then i slap a dumb bitch down. but that's only happened twice in my whole life. though i have told off a couple bosses. i think they thought it was cute. but who cares? but for the most part, even when they're being shitty, it's because they're usually bored and feeling downtrodden. why not joke them up a bit? i swear, the people at my local gas station tell me their whole life story, and sometimes it's a nuisance, like if i have to go, but i have to tell you, it's becoming a wonderful little blockwide community.
I think Americains are overly polite. Well. Compared to the French. Like how people precipate to say "bless you" when you sneeze.. hahaha!! Here people look at you with disgust if you dare sneeze in public..
you know that brings up something I noticed in Europe that I don't like so much....people are always lookign critically around and the things they notice aren't big deals. For instance once in Spain we went to this bar and it was completely packed with everyone watching a guy playing acoustic guitar and singing. After about 45 minuts i sat down against the back wall and everyone was completely shocked or something. When we got back my exes brother said "we went to suchandsuch bar where Gary sat down on the floor" I found it ridiculous
